Naruto New Episodes Release Date: How Many Episodes Does It Have?

Fans of Masashi Kishimoto’s iconic ninja classic, Naruto, haven’t been able to catch a new episode of the popular anime in quite some time.

The first of four new episodes of the anime will begin running in September 2023, the official Naruto website announced, marking the 20th anniversary of the premiere of the original anime. Though Anime Network News has speculated that the new episodes will take place “anywhere in the period of the original series,” no plot specifics were revealed in the announcement.

In July, reruns of the original series will air on television to increase viewership. Like the other anniversary celebrations of Naruto’s anime, it has been speculated that the four episodes will be remakes of significant past ones.

Naruto New Episodes Release Date

According to Screenrent, Naruto is based on the life of Naruto Uzumaki, a ninja orphan whose parents once resided in the hidden village of Hidden Leaf. Naruto enrolls in the local ninja academy to become the Hokage or village leader, someday.

It was also stated in the same announcement that the second season of the Boruto anime has begun production and that the first season would conclude on March 26, 2023. Fans of Masashi Kishimoto’s ninja world have never had it better, what with Boruto getting its Shippuden-style part 2 and Naruto’s anime returning in September.

Despite having classmates from famous ninja clans and having one of the most feared animals in ninja legend locked inside of him as a jinchuriki, Naruto grows into one of the most skilled ninjas of his time.

Naruto, based on the manga by Hayato Date, had its first episode in October 2002 and aired for a total of 220 episodes. Shortly after the conclusion of the first series in February 2007, the sequel, titled Naruto: Shippuden, began airing and continued up to March of this year.

The series was mostly faithful to Kishimoto’s manga, but it also had several original story arcs that were only shown in the anime. In the time they were on air, Naruto and its sequel, Naruto: Shippuden, gained a massive fanbase around the world.

An inspiring tale of a young Naruto making his place in the world by sheer determination, the story of Naruto has universal appeal. Because of Narutoverse’s rich variety of characters, readers can easily identify with various factions and archetypes.

Boruto Prepares for a New Era of the Anime Adaptation

It was recently announced that the Boruto TV adaptation would be nearing its Part 1 finish sooner than many may have thought and that the Naruto anime would return for four new episodes.

Part 1 of Boruto will conclude with the airing of Episode 293 on March 26.

It’s wonderful news that development on Part 2 has begun, as the official press release states, “the anime is already in the works.”

Fans of the series have long speculated that, like with Black Clover, a protracted break would occur while the anime caught up with content from the original manga.

Fans shouldn’t expect the Boruto anime to have the same wait time as Black Clover, about which we are still waiting for news, but there are reports that the hiatus will be between three and six months long.
