“Heels” is one of the most surprising shows on TV this year. The wrestling-themed drama on Starz was made by the head writer of “Loki,” Michael Waldron.
“Arrow” star Stephen Amell and “Vikings” star Alexander Ludwig play two brothers who wrestle in Georgia for their father’s promotion and deal with all the drama that comes with it.
Rotten Tomatoes gave the show a score of 96% Fresh, which means that critics loved it. It also got a second season right away.
Starz seems to have found another hit to go with shows like the historical romance “Outlander” and the sequel series “Power Book II: Ghost.” Who knows, maybe this series will be nominated for an Emmy next year.
Fans have been begging for more of the Spade family’s story ever since the Season 1 finale aired on October 10, 2021. Here’s a handy list of what we know so far about “Heels'” upcoming second season.
Heels Season 2 Release Date
Deadline says that Season 2 of “Heels” won’t start filming until sometime next year. If you were hoping that Season 2 would come out in late summer like Season 1, you may have to wait a bit longer.
Season 1 was mostly shot in Atlanta, Georgia. Filming started in February 2020 but was stopped the following month because of the COVID-19 pandemic (via Bleeding Cool). Amell said on Twitter that filming resumed in September and didn’t end until April of the following year.
Even though Season 2 probably won’t take as long to film as Season 1, it probably won’t come out until late next year at the earliest, and it might not come out until the spring of 2023.
Most prestige TV shows like to release each season between June 1 and May 31, which is when they can be eligible for Emmys. However, Season 2’s exact release date is still very much up in the air.
Heels Season 2 Cast and Character
The main characters of the show are likely to keep playing the same roles next year. In the Duffy Wrestling League, Stephen Amell played Jack Spade, the owner, and “heel.”
Alexander Ludwig, who was in Bad Boys, played Ace Spade. Staci Spade, Jack’s wife, is played by Alison Luff. Willie Day is Jack’s business partner, and Mary Mccormack plays him as such. Crystal Tyler, Ace’s valet and a girl he likes, is played by Kelli Berglund. Allen Maldonado, as Rooster Robins, was a big deal in DWL wrestling.
James Harrison plays Apocalypse, an experienced but disillusioned wrestler. Thomas Spade, the son of Jack Spade and Staci Spade, is played by Roxton Garcia.
Wild Bill Hancock, a former wrestler, and scout for pro wrestling are played by Chris Bauer. On the show, well-known actors like Trey Tucker, Trey Tucker, Robby Ramos, and Cm Punk all appear. Some of them are Christian Adams, Mike O’Malley, Christian Adams, and Bonnie Somerville.
Is the Story in Heels Real?
Heels is a series about how to win in wrestling and other sports. In the show, the two brothers get into a wrestling competition that their father gave them. Even though they are rivals, they practice wrestling together for the big match. People often ask if the plot of the show is based on something that happened.

Heels are not based on a true story or a real-life event. All of the stories in the Heels series are made up. But Heels shows real life and has great drama because it moves slowly and looks at wrestling from a different point of view.
Even though the story is completely made up, it has many points that are true to life because of the way it was written.
Ending Moment of Season 1
As Ace chokes Jack and says he’s going to kill him, Crystal walks into the ring. As the crowd cheers when Crystal walks in, it becomes clear what will happen in the end.
Season 1 of “Heels” ends with Crystal and Ace wrestling for the title belt. Crystal wins, and she climbs the ladder to get the belt. The ending of Season 1 is based on this sad moment.
In the real ending of Season 1 of “Heels,” Jack nods at Ace in an attempt to makeup, but Ace turns him down. The younger Spade brother gets up, walks out of the ring, and through the tunnel. Season 1 ends with “Heels.” As Ace walks toward the camera, the scene fades out.
Who Wins the Final Match of Season 1?
When the crowd starts to yell at Jack, he starts to change his plans. As Kleenex is thrown at the ring, Ace starts to wonder if Jack did it. He tells his brother that he thinks Jack did it. Jack says he has nothing to do with this mess, but he admits that he was behind the first Kleenex attack in Season 1 of “Heels.”

Heels Season 2 Storyline
Starz says that the second season of Heels is being made right now in Atlanta, Georgia.
After that, the two co-stars of the popular sports drama both posted on social media from the set that the news was true.
Heels At the end of Season 1, Crystal won the DWL championship, and Ace and Jack had a tense relationship. Even Staci and Jack’s marriage is in trouble right now. Most of Season 2 will be about Staci and Jack trying to make things right with both his brother and wife.
Since the show wouldn’t be the same without Ace in the ring, there has also been talking about whether Ace will end up leaving the DWL, even for a short time.
