Sara Lee, a former WWE wrestler, died at the age of 30, her family said in a statement.
Her fellow wrestlers have paid tribute to her on social media, with many expressing “shocked” and sadness at her death.
Lee was a professional wrestler and TV personality from the United States, best known for her time with WWE between 2015 and 2016. In 2015, she won the WWE competition show Tough Enough. Participants in the show were trained to become professional wrestlers, with one male and one female candidate being crowned the victors and handed a contract with WWE.
Lee competed in the sixth season of Tough Enough, winning with Joshua Bredl, who wrestled under the alias Bronson Matthews.
Lee, who was born on June 7, 1992, grew up in Hope Township, Michigan, where she spent most of her time powerlifting. She attended Delta College to study medical sonography after graduating from Meridian High School in 2010.
Lee stated on the WWE Tough Enough podcast with Edward Pevos, “If the WWE thing doesn’t work out, I plan on being an ultrasound technologist.”
Lee made her ring debut on 30 January 2016 in a six-Diva tag team bout after winning Tough Enough in 2015. On September 30, 2016, she was released from her WWE contract.
Lee lived in Florida and married fellow former WWE wrestler Cory Weston, who goes by the ring name Wesley Blake. They married on December 30, 2017, after welcoming their daughter into the world on May 1, 2017.
The couple has two additional children together, their first boy, born on February 27, 2019, and their second son, born in 2021.
When did she pass away?
Sara Lee died on Thursday, October 6, at the age of 30. Terri Lee, Lee’s mother, revealed her death in a Facebook post.

The cause of Lee’s death has not been disclosed. Lee uploaded a selfie on Instagram a few days before her death, celebrating her return to the gym after overcoming her “first-ever sinus illness.”
“Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym two days in a row!” she wrote in the description. My first sinus infection threw me for a loop #Saraselfie #gains”
