A new character has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe: William Jackson Harper. The actor will feature in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” according to sources, however, his exact role is still being kept a secret. On his casting, Marvel declined to comment.b
Harper joins a cast that includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Douglas reprising their roles from the 2015 and 2018 superhero films “Ant-Man” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” respectively. Kathryn Newton will also make her film debut as Cassie Lang, the grown-up daughter of Rudd’s bumbling hero Scott Lang, in the superhero sequel “Quantumia.” The movie follows the Ant-Man family as they battle Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), a time-traveling villain who lives in the microscopic world of the Quantum Realm, as they deal with the new threat.
The role of Chidi Anagonye on NBC’s “The Good Place,” for which Harper is best known, won him an Emmy nomination for supporting comedy actor. Other notable television credits include Barry Jenkins‘ limited series “The Underground Railroad” and Tom Clancy’s “Jack Ryan,” both on Amazon Prime Video.
He most recently appeared alongside Cristin Milioti in Peacock’s comedy thriller series “The Resort,” and before that, he starred in Season 2 of HBO Max’s anthology series “Love Life.” He has acted in several notable movies, including “Midsommar,” “Dark Waters,” and the romantic comedy “We Broke Up.”
Following “Quantumania,” Harper will appear in the sci-fi movie “Landscape with Invisible Hand” by Cory Finley, the MTV and Tracee Ellis Ross “Daria” spinoff film “Jodie,” and the Netflix limited series “A Man in Full” starring David E. Kelley and Regina King. UTA, AC Management, Jackoway Austen, and Jill Fritzo PR are his agents.
On February 17, 2023, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” will be released in theatres.
