The Host, Nominees, and Everything Else You Need to Know About the 2022 American Music Awards!!

The American Music Awards in 2022 are quickly approaching, and Taylor Swift might take home a significant prize.

The “Anti-Hero” singer currently owns the record for the most Artist of the Year awards and AMA victories overall, but the 2022 ceremony may allow her to add to her long list of honors. Six awards are up for grabs this year, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video, and Favorite Pop Album, for the Pennsylvania native.

However, this year’s gathering is not voting on Swift’s most recent album. The eligibility period closed on September 22 although Midnights was released on October 21. Instead, Red (Taylor’s Version), which was released in November 2021, will be the subject of voter opinion.

The prolific artist won the AMA’s Artist of the Decade award in 2019, becoming the first woman to do so. Garth Brooks had previously received the honor in 2000 for his efforts in the 1990s.

Swift said in her acceptance speech, “All that matters to me is the moments that I have shared with you guys, with you the fans, throughout the years. This award recognizes a decade of hard work and of creativity and of fun and memories. “Guys, may it always be enjoyable, amazing, exhilarating, and wonderful times together. Since the first day of my job until now, you have been the reason why I am standing here. With all of my heart, I love you.

Other nominees for the 2022 ceremony include Drake, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, and Bad Bunny. Favorite Afrobeats Artist, Favorite K-pop Artist, Favorite Rock Song, and Favorite Rock Album will all be brand-new categories introduced this year.

Favorite Touring Artist and Favorite Soundtrack categories were both reinstated after being dropped in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The AMAs are a fan-voted awards presentation, unlike the Grammys, Oscars, and Emmys, which means that anybody may log in and vote for their favorite musicians. Last year’s ceremony saw Olivia Rodrigo win New Artist of the Year, and during her acceptance speech, she made a point to thank the audience.

The “Brutal” singer expressed gratitude to the AMAs and the supporters that cast their votes in November 2021. It is really important to me. My absolutely favorite thing in the world is to write songs, and I am incredibly appreciative to everyone who has supported my work.
