The American historical romance TV show Bridgerton is based on the books by Julia Quinn. It is the first scripted show that Shondaland has made for Netflix. It was made by Chris Van Dusen. It is about the Bridgerton family and takes place in the competitive world of Regency-era London’s tonne during the social season when young noble and gentry people who are ready to get married are introduced to society.
The first season came out on December 25, 2020, with mostly positive reviews. With 625.49 million hours watched, it was the most-watched English-language show on Netflix at the time of its debut, until the second season came out.
Latest News About Bridgerton Season 3
Netflix has announced that Season 3 will have a new member of the Ton. According to Deadline, Hannah New will play Lady Tilley Arnold, a young “firebrand” widow who enjoys being in charge of her late husband’s estate and having the financial, social, and sexual freedom that comes with it.
On Sept. 24, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, and Luke Newton stopped by Netflix’s TUDUM to make “Bridgerton Sibling Portraits” and talk about what’s coming in Season 3. Newton told Colin why it took him so long to realize that he and Penelope belonged together. Claudia made it clear that Eloise is still upset that Penelope lied to her for so long about Whistledown.
But Coughlan had the juiciest information to share when she read an excerpt from the first Lady Whistledown column in the Season 3 premiere. There are a few “dazzling” candidates for the diamond of the season, but based on what Coughlan told us, we won’t be too focused on any of them.
Release Date of Bridgerton Season 3
Netflix has not yet said when Season 3 will be out. The previous seasons don’t give us much to go on, other than the fact that they came out two years apart. Season 1 came out on December 25, 2020.
Season 2 came out on March 25, 2022. But Season 3 is currently being made, and it looks like it will be done in December 2022. This gives us hope that it will come out in 2023.
Bridgerton Season 3 Premise
The first two seasons of the show were in the same order as the books by Julia Quinn. However, Netflix has confirmed that Season 3 will be out of order, even though they plan to adapt all of the books.
The third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” is about Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) search for love. Season 3 will skip that book and go straight to book 4, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” which is about Penelope and Colin. The following is Netflix’s official summary:
“Bridgerton is back for its third season with a new showrunner, Jess Brownell, and Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her longtime crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing him talk badly about her last season.
She has decided, though, that it’s time to get married. She wants a husband who will give her enough freedom so she can keep living her double life as Lady Whistledown away from her mother and sisters. But because she lacks confidence, Penelope’s attempts to find a husband on the marriage market fail in a big way.
Cast of Bridgerton Season 3
Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan, will be back, as will her boyfriend Colin, her ex-best friend Eloise, and other members of the Bridgerton family. However, Francesca’s part has been changed. Ruby Stokes’s role as the Bridgerton sister will be taken over by Hannah Dodd since Stokes has moved on to star in Netflix’s Lockwood & Co.
Daniel Francis (Stay Close) will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck) will play Harry Dankworth. Hannah New is the most recent person to join the cast. She will play Lady Tilley Arnold, a young widow.
We know what you’re all thinking, but Regé-Jean Page, who played the smoldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1, will not be back for Season 3. Even though there were rumors that she would come back, it looks like the star who stole everyone’s hearts in Season 1 will only appear in one episode and then leave.
