Blockbuster Season 1: the Trailer for the New Blockbuster Show Will Remind You of the Office in the Best Way!

Blockbuster is an upcoming American comedy about the workplace. It was made by Vanessa Ramos, who is also the showrunner and executive producer. Based on the Blockbuster brand, the series takes place in the last Blockbuster Video store and looks at what and who it takes for a small business to succeed. It will debut on Netflix on November 3, 2022, with Randall Park as Timmy, the store manager at Blockbuster Video.

What is the Storyline of Blockbuster?

Numerous descriptions have given us a solid notion of what to anticipate from the performance. A group of nostalgic employees and their small-town community band together to try to save the last Blockbuster Video shop in the globe in a world where on-demand material is always available.

In a fading industry, in a dying strip mall, in a dying town, the series investigates what it takes—and more precisely, who it takes—for a tiny business to flourish despite all odds. The program is analogous to NBC’s successes like Parks & Recreation, The Office, and Superstore, all of which have been huge rating triumphs.

With the producers gaining the rights to be able to utilize the official Blockbuster logo and store’s uniforms throughout the production, the series will purportedly offer a “genuine experience” down memory lane.

Blockbuster Series Cast

We’ve heard about three groups of people who will be in Blockbuster. First, it was confirmed that Randall Park would be there. Then, in mid-February 2022, we heard that Melissa Fumero had joined the cast, and in March 2022, the rest of the cast was revealed. Let’s go over all of them and who they play below.

  • Melissa Fumero, who is known for her role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will play Eliza.
  • Olga Merediz, who was in “In the Heights,” will play Connie, a motherly woman who works at Blockbuster because of the friends she’s made there, not for the money.
  • Tyler Alvarez (Never Have I Ever) will play Carlos, a young man in his 20s who loves movies and seems like a snob because of it.
Percy, the owner of the strip mall and stores, will be played by Curb Your Enthusiasm star JB Smoove. The store where his daughter works is a Blockbuster.
  • Kamaia Fairburn, who has been in shows like “Overlord” and “The Underwoods,” will play Kayla.
