Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date: Will It Be Renewed or Cancelled?

The American miniseries Moon Knight was made by Jeremy Slater for the streaming service Disney+. It is based on the same-named Marvel Comics character. It is the sixth TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that Marvel Studios has made. It has the same storyline as the movies in the franchise.

It follows Marc Spector and Steven Grant, two different versions of the same man who has dissociative identity disorder (DID), as they get involved in a mystery about Egyptian gods. Slater is in charge of writing, while Mohamed Diab is in charge of directing.

The first episode of Moon Knight aired on March 30, 2022. It ran for six episodes and ended on May 4, 2022. It is part of the MCU’s Phase Four. The show got good reviews. Isaac, Calamawy, and Hawke’s performances, the show’s darker tone compared to other MCU shows, and how it portrayed DID were praised in particular.

Moon Knight Season 2: Will It Be Renewed or Cancelled?

With the release of the Moon Knight series on Disney+, Marvel gave us our first look at a new superhero who has ties to the Gods of Egypt. Oscar Isaac played both the title character, a mercenary named Marc Spector, and his alter ego, Steven Grant, who worked in a gift shop. In a scene after the credits rolled, Jake Lockley, the third alter, was shown to be real.

This left the character and story open for a second season. Lockley also showed that the three of them are still bound to the Egyptian god Khonshu, whose voice is done by F. Murray Abraham when he introduced the third altar.

Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date

Marvel said the series would only run for a certain number of episodes, but fans and critics liked it, which led to talk of a second season. As is typical for Marvel, there hasn’t been much news about a renewal, but Isaac has given a bit more information about it.

Speculation About When Moon Knight Season 2 Will Come Out

As of October 2022, there is no date set for the second season of Moon Knight. Isaac made it clear that he thinks Moon Knight is a limited series, not a show that will keep going.

“I used to collect comics when I was younger, but I had never heard of Moon Knight. Isaac told Jared Leto on an episode of Actors on Actors, “I’d heard of Morbius, but I’d never heard of Moon Knight.” “Since it’s a full-length movie, I don’t know how the process went for you. We’re part of a limited run.”

Still, Moon Knight writer and producer Jeremy Slater told Total Film about his plans for the character beyond the series, though he admits he’s not sure if the Fist of Khonshu will ever join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Moon Knight Season 2 Plot Speculation

Marc Spector’s adventures as Moon Knight would probably continue in the second season of Moon Knight. In the first season, the avatar of Khonshu had to deal with Harrow and his cultists, but a second season could go in a lot of different directions.

Some fans may want to see the masked hero fight Werewolf by Night, but we think it would be cool if the next series was based on the Shadow Knight story. In this story, Randall, Marc’s brother, came back as the deadly Shadow Knight, a bad version of Moon Knight who became a sort of twisted version of Khonshu’s avatar.

There’s also the loose end of Marc’s third personality, Jake Lockley, who put a bullet in Harrow’s head. Lockley seems to be a bad person. Marc and Steven don’t know about him yet, but we don’t think that will be the case for long.

Moon Knight Cast Rumours for Season 2

If there is a second season of Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac would likely play the hooded hero again. That means Marc and Steven would probably show up, too, but the funny thing about Moon Knight is that you can never be sure which of his personalities will be around from one story to the next.

Moon Knight will also need his guardian god if he comes back. So, F. Murray Abraham will probably go back into the recording studio to give the moon god Khonshu a voice. Also, Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) can’t just leave her husband, can she? Husbands? It’s hard, so you’ll understand if we get a little lost.

Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date

Arthur Harrow, played by Ethan Hawke, is the only Moon Knight character we don’t think will come back, at least not in a big way. Even though we liked the crazy glass-crushing guy, we don’t think Hawke will play the Marvel villain again. Plus, he got shot in the head, which makes a comeback hard but not impossible.

Production And Castin Details

Oscar Isaac started talking about the lead role in October 2020, and he was said to have been cast in January 2021. In May 2021, Marvel Studios confirmed that Isaac had been cast. Isaac was hesitant to join the series at first because he knew how much time and work it took to film the Star Wars sequel trilogy and didn’t want to do that again.

He agreed to play the part after learning more about DID and becoming interested in Grant’s character in the show. Feige also gave him a lot of room to be creative.

The writers of the series are Michael Kastelein, Beau DeMayo, Peter Cameron, Sabir Pirzada, Alex Meehan, Rebecca Kirsch, Matthew Orton, and Danielle Iman. An archaeologist who specializes in Egyptian tombs gives the writers advice.

Feige compared the series to the Indiana Jones movies and explored Egyptology, both of which were big parts of Slater’s pitch because he wanted to tell a “dark, complicated story” with “big, fun, supernatural, Amblin-style magic.”

Before Blade: The Series was canceled in September 2006, the character Marc Spector/Moon Knight was supposed to be introduced in the second season. A possible spin-off series based on the character was also in the works.

In October, Marvel Studios and No Equal Entertainment worked together to make a separate TV show about Moon Knight. In 2008, writer Jon Cooksey was hired to work on the show, but it never went anywhere.
