The American TV show Pretty Smart was made by Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand. Emily Osment, Gregg Sulkin, Olivia Macklin, Cinthya Carmona, and Michael Hsu Rosen all have roles in the show. The first episode of the show came out on Netflix on October 8, 2021. After one season, the show was taken off the air in April 2022.
Netflix has had trouble with its sitcoms over the years. Pretty Smart could have been the show that broke Netflix’s sitcom slump, but it didn’t happen. The series is about Chelsea, a smart woman who went to Harvard. She moves to the West Coast to live with her carefree sister Claire and three strange but fun roommates.
Pretty Smart Season 2: Will It Be Renewed or Cancelled?
We didn’t hear much about Pretty Smart’s future on Netflix for months. The longer there was no news about renewal, the more likely it was that it would not be renewed. On April 27, 2022, different news sources reported that Netflix had canceled the show after only one season.
The show made it to the top ten list on Netflix US. The show was only in the top ten for three days, and at its best, it was in eighth place. It didn’t stay in the top 10 in any region for more than 11 days, which shows that the show wasn’t a big draw for Netflix right away.
The IMDb MovieMeter is another piece of information we can look at. It shows how popular a show is on IMDb. We can see a short rise in popularity in the week after the movie comes out, but then a sharp drop.
When Will Season 2 of Pretty Smart Come Out?
As of the end of January 2022, Netflix had not picked up “Pretty Smart” for a second season. Fans of the newbie sitcom can’t get a release date, and there’s no way to guess when Season 2 might start filming.
We can also confirm that the next set of episodes that Netflix might put out would be a second season, not a second part. The first season of “Pretty Smart” had 10 half-hour episodes that were all shot at Sunset Bronson Studios in Los Angeles, California.

Who is in Season 2 of Pretty Smart Cast?
Since the show hasn’t been renewed, it’s not clear which cast members will be back for Season 2. But since there were no shocking deaths or big changes at the end of Season 1, fans have a good chance of seeing the same cast back for Season 2. Emily Osment, Gregg Sulkin, Olivia Macklin, Michael Hsu Rosen, and Cinthya Carmona are some of the people on this list.
Some of the regular and guest cast might also come back, like Kevin Miles, who is better known as Jake from State Farm, as Claire’s ex-boyfriend Dave, Geoff Ross as Claire’s boss Howard at the restaurant where she works, and Ming-Na Wen as Jayden’s mother Jasmine.
Some of the people who work behind the scenes may also come back. The show’s creators and executive producers are Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand, who worked together on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”
Other executive producers are “How I Met Your Mother” veteran and “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” showrunner Kourtney Kang, who helped develop the show, and Pamela Fryman, who directed three episodes of “Pretty Smart,” including the pilot, as well as most episodes of “How I Met Your Mother.”

What is the Storyline of Season 2 of Pretty Smart?
The first season of “Pretty Smart” ended abruptly with Claire (Olivia Macklin) splitting up with Dave (Kevin Miles) and then kissing Grant (Gregg Sulkin). They kiss right before Emily Osment’s (Emily Osment) sister Chelsea enters the room to inform her that she needs to speak with her about wanting to pursue a relationship with Grant because they want to make sure Claire is okay first. What will become of this complicated love triangle?
When Season 2 begins, this will likely be the main topic that needs to be covered. According to Osment, “I don’t know what’s going to happen in Season 2.” I’m therefore eager to watch.
Sulkin admitted that he was unsure of which sister Grant should be with in Season 2. “There’s a real type of evolution and growth with Grant and Chelsea. Chelsea’s taught Grant so much. Both Olivia and Emily are so amazing to work with, so whatever the writers take it, I’ll be pleased with either,” Grant said of his relationship with Claire.
For the record, Cinthya Carmona and Michael Hsu Rosen told Entertainment Tonight that they support Grant and Chelsea’s relationship. That’s definitely where things are going, but Season 2 will undoubtedly include some family conflict before we get there.
