Season 2 of “Partner Track” is Cancelled on Netflix

It was not meant to be, but Netflix’s newest legal drama, which is currently streaming, is following in the footsteps of The Lincoln Lawyer by adapting a well-known book. The Netflix show was canceled in November 2022.

The series, which features Arden Cho, Alexandra Turshen, Bradley Gibson, Dominic Sherwood, and Rob Heaps, is based on Helen Wan’s 2013 novel The Partner.

The entire first season’s 10 episodes debuted on Netflix on August 26, 2022, across the globe. With mixed to favorable initial reviews. As of November 8th, 2022, it has a 62% RottenTomatoes critic’s approval rating and similar viewer approval ratings.

The San Francisco Chronicle described it as “perfect background noise,” but critics’ opinions varied. The Chicago Tribune’s Nina Metz stated that the show is “engrossing enough to keep you watching” at the same time.

Partner Track Renewal Status

Despite receiving high praise from Netflix’s head of drama and receiving a lot of buzzes, Partner Track would not be returning for a second season, Deadline reported on November 8—a busy election day.

The streamer “had commissioned a writer’s room which was up and running, working on ideas for a potential second season,” according to a report from Deadline.

The fact that the show was relatively inexpensive in comparison to other shows was also mentioned, but the viewership was still insufficient to support a second season.

Renewals depend on a number of variables. Three internal metrics have been cited as factors in the renewal or cancellation of a show. “Adjusted view share,” “efficiency score,” and “impact value” are these terms.

We can look at Netflix’s top 10 metrics, hourly figures, third-party data (including hours watched and completion data), and external demand sources, which we’ll do below, even though we as outsiders are unable to calculate these metrics.

What We Anticipated for Season 2 of Partner Track on Netflix

By the end of the ten episodes, Ingrid is left unsatisfied because Jeff Murphy ultimately caused her attempt to find a partner at Parsons Valentine & Hunt to fail. The same Jeff Murphy with whom she had an on-again, off-again relationship in season 1. That’s despite all of her efforts to overcome all of the obstacles thrown in her path throughout the first season.

  • Nick, or Team Z. Her ultimate journey is that one.
  • Lee left open the prospect of bringing Nick back (played by Rob Heaps).
