This year, everyone was talking about Netflix’s legal drama Partner Track, which went straight into the Top 10 on the service.
In the show, lawyer Ingrid Yun worked to become a partner at a top firm in New York City. Partner Track is based on the novel by Helen Wan. Ingrid is torn between her current boyfriend Nick Laren and the charming former one-night stand Jeff Murphy.
If you were interested in all 10 episodes like we were, you might be wondering if there will be a second season soon. So, do you think it will happen?
Has Partner Track Season Two Been Confirmed?
Fans are sad to hear the news, especially since Partner Track wasn’t listed on the streamer as a limited series (limited series are usually restricted to one standalone season).
One fan wrote, “It’s unfair that Partner Track was canceled because we were just getting a taste of Ingrid Yun finding herself and rethinking her morals in a cutthroat world, and Z.
In another way, “What does Netflix even mean by the word “success”? It did well at first. It has fans who can’t wait for S2. Critics have praised it. People still find out about it and like it. They began making plans for a second season. There are more things to say. I’m distraught.

How Well is Partner Track Performing on Netflix?
Let’s start with information from Netflix’s own top 10 sites.
From August 21 to September 11 (the show didn’t rank in its first week on Netflix), 66.01 million hours were spent watching it.
Whether you agree or disagree, the show is most like The Lincoln Lawyer, which came out in 2022. Both shows are about the law and are dramas, though some might say that the show is more of a romantic comedy. Both have 10 episodes and run for about the same amount of time.
As the chart below shows, the show did not get off to a good start. (We’ve added Pieces of Her as another comparison.)

We talked about the first episode of Partner Track in our Top 10 Report, which uses CVE metrics to see how well the show did against similar shows. The show came out just after Cowboy Bebop but before Archive 81, Heartstopper, and In From the Cold.
In another top 10 reports we put out, you can see how well Partner Track did compare to other shows. The ones in green were renewed, and the ones in red were canceled.
Raw top 10s from FlixPatrol can also show us how well the show does. From the above heatmap, we can see that the show is most popular in the US, Canada, Nordic countries, and Eastern Europe.
Based on the data they have, the show’s popularity peaked on the third day it was on the service. Since then, it has done pretty well.

What Did We Expect From Partner Track Season 2 on Netflix
if the show does get picked up again? Where do you think the show will go next?
By the end of the 10 episodes, Ingrid is sad because her plan to get a partner at Parsons Valentine & Hunt failed, and Jeff Murphy finally stopped her. The same Jeff Murphy she had been in and out of a relationship with during season 1. Even though she had to work hard to get past all the obstacles in her way during the first season.
Georgia Lee talked to Deadline soon after season 1 came out and talked about where they would go in season 2. Here are some of the most important points:
- Don’t think that Ingrid and Murphy will get back together any time soon.
- Lee said this about relationships: “I’d like to say that Ingrid doesn’t pick Team Murphy, Team Nick, or Team Z.
- She picks herself. That’s the end of her trip.”
- Lee didn’t rule out the idea of Nick coming back.
- Rachel, Tyler, and Ingrid should do more.
Will There Be a Second Season of Partner Track?
Netflix has decided not to keep the show going. Using the hashtag “renew partner track,” the main cast, Arden Cho, and her fans tried to get the word out, but, well, nothing worked.
