The Strange New Worlds Season 2 Release Date: When Will it Air?
The USS Enterprise crew and Captain Christopher Pike explore new worlds and complete missions across the galaxy in the second season of the American television series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which is set in the 23rd century and takes place ten years before Star Trek: The Original Series.
Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers are the showrunners for the season, which is produced by CBS Studios in collaboration with Secret Hideout, Weed Road Pictures, HM R X Productions, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Strange New Worlds’ second season was officially announced in January 2022, and from February to July 2022, CBS Stages Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, served as the location for filming.
The showrunners carried over The Original Series’ episodic storytelling style from the first season, giving each episode a distinct genre and tone. In this season, which also features a crossover with Star Trek: Lower Decks, several of the main performers and numerous guest stars play younger versions of The Original Series characters.
The Strange New Worlds Season 2 Release Date
Even though Paramount+ hasn’t specified a release date, Season 2 of Strange New Worlds may, with a little bit of luck, arrive sooner than you anticipate. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds received a second season order from Paramount+ on January 18, 2022, months before Season 1 debuted.
Leaks about plans to begin production on Season 2 surfaced in November 2021, indicating that the old think tank on Season 2 was getting to work much earlier than it would on a regular show. Director Chris Fisher tweeted that Season 2’s production began in February 2022 and was finished in July, which is immediately after Season 1 came to an end.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 2 Expected Plot
In Season 1 of Star Trek Strange New Worlds, the main story turn involved what happened to Commander Chin-Riley. Early in the story, it was revealed that the main character was an Illyrian, a race that was prohibited from joining Starfleet. The Commander was taken off the Enterprise in the last episode after being imprisoned for concealing her identity.
Captain Pike’s reaction to this and whether or not it permits Spock to take over as the first officer will likely play a big narrative role in Strange New Worlds season 2. Oh, and he’ll still have to deal with the reality of the impending disaster that he faces.
We also know that Paul Wesley’s portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk’s younger self will have a bigger role in Strange New Worlds season 2. This would suggest that viewers get their first real look at how Kirk and Spock’s bond develops before becoming what we see in The Original Series.

Furthermore, viewers should expect to see some of the series’ supporting characters grow more. Melissa Navia’s Lieutenant Ortegas appeared in every episode of Strange New Worlds season 1 despite playing a minimal part. If the character gets a special episode that focuses on exploring more of her personality, you shouldn’t be surprised.
The second season of Strange New Worlds will have a crossover with the Star Trek animated comedy series Lower Decks, it has been confirmed. In a season episode, a few of the Lower Decks voice cast members will appear live-action. The only thing we can say for sure about the crossover is that we expect some mischief to be caused via time travel. There is just one thing we can be certain of it will be a lot of fun.
Where Can I Watch The Series
Streaming service Paramount Plus is the only place where Strange New Worlds is available. The majority of the Star Trek back catalog can be found on Paramount Plus, though some series are still available to stream on other platforms.
