Who is Melanie Olmstead?
An inspiring woman who gave her all to make Yellowstone a success has died. In addition to her husband and three children, Olmstead passed away at the age of 50 from complications related to cancer.
She worked on various TV shows, including House M.D., The Shield, Mindhunter, and others, and also spent time in Africa supporting women’s education efforts before beginning her career on film sets in the early 2000s.
Her most notable accomplishment is serving as the “Yellowstone” location lead, which required her to drive crews and equipment all over Montana while the show’s second through fifth seasons was being filmed. Considering how popular the show is, this was an incredibly taxing but incredibly rewarding experience.
The crew member who passed away in May 2019 was a major lover of Yellowstone since she had been outspoken about her passion for animals, especially horses since she was a small child.
Mahogany, her almost 100-year-old horse, was characterized as “my lovely magnificent girl” in a post she made on Facebook about how much she loved it.
What is Yellowstone?
Yellowstone Lake, located in Yellowstone National Park, is approximately 570 square miles in size and is home to over 132 different kinds of fish. About 40 different islands make up Yellowstone Lake, with Heart Island, Twin Island, Marble Island, Lone Star Island, Bald Eagle Island, and Rabbit Ears Point among the most notable.
Heart Island, a tiny uninhabited island in Yellowstone Lake close to the West Thumb Geyser Basin, can be viewed from above. When the water level is low, a nearby land bridge can be used to access the island from Fishing Bridge or by boat.

Early Life of Sheila Olmstead
On November 15, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Renee Olmstead was born. On May 25, 2019, she passed away at her home there after battling cancer for two years. She had been married to Mark Jackson for 26 years at the time of her death, and the couple had five children total—three boys who are 14 or 15 years old and twin girls who are 13 years old.
Former actress turned stay-at-home mother Renee Olmstead had several children and resided in Salt Lake City. She just passed away after suffering from an illness for almost two years.
Olmstead was Janet Corbridge‘s adopted daughter and a former war veteran. Olmstead’s father married Loa Rose Hanson, who is now his widow after he passed away just two years ago after her adopted mother passed away in 1979.

Olmstead and Annalise Ford were wed on December 31, 2015, and remained so until May 25, 2019, when Olmstead lost the love of her life.
Cause of Death for Melanie Olmstead
John Olmstead, a terrific man, left this world. At the age of 91, he died on May 25 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Although Melanie Olmstead’s exact cause of death is still unknown, it was thought that she may have been poisoned when she passed away while on a lavish cruise.

Yellowstone Death Notice for Melanie Olmstead
On July 30, Melanie Olmstead’s friends and fellow students gathered to commemorate her life. The previous day, they went for a horseback ride in memory of their friend, who played a significant role in the Salt Lake City and Yellowstone filming communities.
