What if Season 2 Release Date: Who Are the Cast Members in This Season?

What If…? is one of the MCU shows that has made us think the most in a long time. It started on Disney+ in 2021 and ran for nine episodes before The Watcher said, “You thought the story was over, but it was only the beginning.” What If…? has a great ending that leaves a lot of room for more episodes that could go in any direction.

Based on the Marvel Comics series What If…?, the animated show looks at the different alternate timelines in the multiverse and shows what will happen to people who try to mess with it. Along with the interesting character of The Watcher, the series was worth watching because it had many interesting what-if scenarios, like what if Captain Carter was the first Avenger or what if Ultron won?

Marvel Studios has already picked up the show for a second and third season, which makes sense when you think about what the multiverse has to offer. We don’t know much about the third season yet, but here’s what we do know about season 2 of What If…?

Release Date

Even though Marvel said that the second and third seasons would be made, they did not say when they would come out. But the second season of What If…? will start in early 2023, as announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 and on the official Marvel website. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ashley C. Bradley, who is the head writer and executive producer of What If…?, talked about her plans for the second season:

“We’re keeping the anthology format for the second season. There will be all-new stories, a lot of fun, new heroes, and more from Phase Four than we were able to use this season. We hope to see hints of characters like the Eternals, Shang-Chi, and the Black Widow.

What If…? is fun because it lets us explore the whole infinite multiverse, so we try to jump around as much as possible. I want to play with all of these characters, and as much as I love Captain Carter, we have to share the love. I’m looking forward to showing new worlds and heroes.

While Marvel gets ready for the next phase and digs deeper into the idea of the Multiverse, What If…? season 2 is likely to have better content than season 1. Contrary to what most people think, the first season didn’t shy away from darker themes or situations.

Fans would be thrilled if the second season had similar themes and even more interesting stories with mind-blowing turns. While you wait for season 2 of What If…? and celebrate that a third season has been picked up, you might want to check out these MCU shows that will be on Disney+ in 2023.

 The Plotline

At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Marvel showed the trailer for the second season. This made us think about what exciting things could happen in the next season. After what happened in season 1, the first battle of season 2 is between Captain Carter and Steve Rogers, who is driving the HYDRA Stomper.

It means that instead of Bucky, HYDRA captures Steve, and in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers is played by the Winter Soldier and Captain America is Peggy Carter.

As the trailer showed, future episodes will show us a different side of Hela. It might have something to do with Captain Carter, who went to the future by accident when he walked through a dimensional door. After these things happen, Quill is given to his father, Ego, which is another “what-if” situation.

When The Watcher yells “The Multiverse,” Scarlet Witch comes in. This is the most exciting part. It could be a hint at a “what-if” situation in the movie Multiverse of Madness, where things went wrong.

As the trailer goes on, we see Odin fighting Wenwu and Ying Li, which is a very interesting scene. Later, the story takes place during the Infinity War, when Captain America destroys the time stone and messes up the timeline again. From what I can tell, the what-if scenarios in the second season will be more complicated and interesting.

The Cast

Jeffrey Wright’s character, The Watcher, will be back in season 2 to see more disasters. Many of the voice actors from the first season will also be back, including Hayley Attwell as Peggy Carter, Josh Keaton as Steve Rogers, Lake Bell as Natasha Romanoff, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff, Cynthia McWilliams as Gamora, Mark Ruffalo

Where To Watch

The animated action-adventure show is distributed by Disney Platform Distribution, and it was only made for Disney Plus, which was the first network to show it.

The second season of What If will also be streamed on Disney Plus, just like the first season. Each episode of the series lasts between 30 and 37 minutes, and the show can be watched in English.

A third season is also being made right now, and fans will be able to watch it on the same platform, which is Disney Plus. Once the date is set, which will probably be early in 2023, a new episode of What If..? will come out every week until the season is over.

The Talk On Social Media

People are excited about the second season of What If because it has been announced. There is an official page for the show on Twitter with the handle “@whatifofficial.” There is also an official page for the show on Instagram with the handle “what if,” which posts news about the show.

People want to see the episode between Gamora and Tony that wasn’t finished, and they also want Captain Hydra to be added this season. People in the audience are looking forward to the new season and have said that the first season gave them chills.

Fans say that they hope the new season will be better than the last one and have more creative storylines from the MCU.

What To Expect

The first season of the animated show did pretty well, so it’s only natural that people will expect great things from Marvel and the second season.

As if it hadn’t been said before, the second season will follow The Watcher as he travels through the multiverse, meets new heroes in different situations, and tries to keep the multiverse safe. In the new season, we’ll see more action, adventure, and different versions of events from the MCU.

Episode Guide

If the episodes of season 2 are the same as those of the first season, that means the second season will also have a total of nine episodes that will come out at the start of 2023.

Most likely, two or three episodes of the second season will come out on the first day, and then new episodes will come out every week until the new season is over.
