The new series is based on two songs by Hikaru Utada that came out 19 years apart. It follows the lives of Noguchi Yae and Namiki Harumachi as they deal with falling in love for the first time and then running into each other again after a long time.

Reviews of First Love
The premise is beautiful, and the trailer promises an emotional roller coaster. I’m looking forward to it a lot because it looks like the romantic story I’ve been waiting for for a while, but it also looks like there will be some sad parts along the way. And that’s fine since the poster and trailer pretty much tell you everything you need to know.
It also seems like a very personal show, which makes sense since Yuri Kanchiku wrote and directed it all. It’s also nice to be inspired by two songs instead of a book or even another movie or TV show. I’m excited to see what that will bring to the table.
