Vikings: Valhalla is a historical drama streaming television series created by Jeb Stuart for Netflix. It is a sequel to History’s Vikings and was filmed in County Wicklow, Ireland. Set 100 years after the events of the Vikings, this series tells the story of how the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066 marked the beginning of the end of the Viking Age.
The first season, which has 8 episodes, started on February 25, 2022. The show was officially renewed for a second and third season in March 2022, after a 24-episode order was made public in November 2019. On January 12, 2023, the second season will come out.
Vikings: Valhalla’ Sets Season 2 Release Date
On November 21, Netflix announced that the second season of the popular show Vikings: Valhalla will come out on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Before the announcement, we thought it was likely that the second part of Vikings: Valhalla would come out in early 2023. And, more specifically, around the time when the first season was supposed to come out.
The new season of TUDUM will come out in 2023, Netflix said at a fan event on Saturday, September 23. At the time, the streamer didn’t give a specific release date, but we now know that a new season will start the year.

Vikings: Valhalla’ Sets Season 2 Expected Cast
Several people from the Vikings: Valhalla season 2 cast are likely to come back. Sam Corlett plays Leif, Leo Suter plays Harald, Frida Gustavsson plays Freydis, Laura Berlin plays Emma of Normandy, David Oakes plays Godwin, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson plays Godwin (Olaf).
Given how important they were in the first season, Sren Pilmark (Forkbeard) and Bradley Freegard (Canute) will also be back. Pollyanna McIntosh (lfgifu) said on Instagram that she was coming back (opens in new tab).
Several newcomers have been confirmed at this point: Florian Munteanu, who was seen in Shang-Chi as Razor Fist, has joined the cast as a Byzantine general named Maniakes. James Bradley will play Harker, “the ruler of Jómsborg.” Hayat Kamille will play Mariam, “an astronomer who’s stuck in Novgorod.” Marcin Doronciski will play Olaf and Harald’s “tough love” uncle King Yaroslav the Wise, and Sofya Lebedeva will play Elena, the daughter of a Russian noble.

Caroline Henderson is one of the people who probably won’t be in the second season (Haakon). In the eighth and final episode of the first season, the Jarl of Kattegat died.
But there is still a chance to come back. Henderson told Metro, “We’re not sure that she won’t come back. She could come back as a ghost or something like that.”
Same deal with Asbjrn Krogh Nissen, who played Kre. During the final fight between Kre and Freydis in Kattegat, Kre’s head was cut off. He and King Edmund, played by Louis Davison, won’t be back unless we see flashbacks or visions.
Jeb Stuart says that of the current characters, the second season will “put a whole different spotlight on Olaf,” and that his son Magnus could show up in later seasons. Erik the Red, the legendary Viking warrior, and father of Leif and Freydis, was also mentioned in our spoiler-filled conversation with Stuart. However, he won’t show up until the third season, not the second. Goran Visnijc, who was in the second season of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, is set to play him.
Stuart says that Godwin is “a character for the long haul,” which could mean that he will be around for a while. London will have no idea what’s coming.

Vikings: Valhalla’ Sets Season 2 Expected Plot
Everyone who liked the first set of episodes is sure to be very interested in what happens in season 2 of Vikings: Valhalla. It’s easy to guess what could happen, like Leif turning into Erik the Red in the next episode, which would give fans of Vikings: Valhalla season 2 more exciting action. Another story thread people will want to see play out is how Harald will endure moving forward after barely surviving the first set of episodes.

Freydis also has to deal with the fact that she is the one who will save the Viking people. This is a big responsibility, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out the next time. Emma and Godwin’s efforts in England to stop lfgifu from getting revenge and to keep an eye on the dangerous region of Mercia, among other things, will probably also be a highlight of the second season.
