The Vampire Diaries will leave Netflix in another big market. The UK will lose all eight seasons of the show on New Year’s Eve (December 31st, 2022).
The Vampire Diaries is a long-running and popular supernatural teen show that ran on The CW from 2009 to 2017. It had 171 episodes.
During the show’s eight seasons, you got to see vampire brothers Stefan and Damon fight over how much Elena liked them.
The show has been on Netflix UK in some form since at least 2013, but it will no longer be available.
On the page, there is a “Last Day to Watch” notice that says the series will no longer be available after December 30.
We should also point out that this isn’t the first time that The Vampire Diaries has been in danger of being taken off the air in the UK. It was supposed to be taken off Netflix UK in November 2020, but it was kept there instead.
The Vampire Diaries was on Netflix for longer in the UK than The Originals, which will leave Netflix in September 2021.
The show was taken off Netflix US in September 2022, so this date was set months after that.
