True Story Season2: Renewal Status and Other Updates

Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes star in the Netflix drama series True Story. The limited series, which was made by Eric Newman, started on November 24, 2021, and has seven episodes.

The series is about a world-famous comic, Kid, who is on a tour stop that turns into a life-or-death situation when the consequences of a night with his brother threaten to destroy everything he’s built. Now, Kid is looking for a way out with all his might because his brother is set on ruining more than just his success.

True Story Season 2 Release Date

Since 2020, people have been working on the first season, and it finally came out at the end of 2021. If Netflix renews the show soon, the second season should come out at the end of 2023. But nothing has been said about a second season, so it’s hard to say when the second season will start.

True Story Season 2 Cast

Hart will play Kid again if there is a second season, and Will Catlett will play Herschel, the bodyguard who blackmails people. Since most of the other major actors are dead, Snipes as Carlton, Chris Diamantopoulos as Savvas, John Ales as Nikos, and Ash Santos as Daphne may show up in flashback scenes, if there are any. Newman thinks that if there is another season, Kid will go on tours and use his tragedy to make money. If there is a new season, there may also be some new people.

About the True Story

The show was meant to be a “limited series,” which usually means that the story would end in one season. By the end of the last episode of the first season, the murder mystery is almost solved. (Spoiler!) It turns out that Carlton (Snipes) faked Daphne’s death to get money.

At a Philadelphia 76ers game, Savvas and Nikos, two thugs, corner the brothers and beat them up. Carlton tries to get Kid to help save his younger brother, but Kid has a plan. He had been hiding a gun, which he then pulled out and used to shoot the bad guys. He then goes back and kills his brother, making it look like there was a gunfight. He gets away with nothing because he lied to the police.

That is, until his bodyguard, who knew the truth, used it against him to get money. But even this is taken care of by Kid, who negotiates how much money he will get from his next contract. The show comes full circle by the end, with Kid starting his set with the same speech he gave in the first episode.

True Story Season 2 Expected Plot

There aren’t many loose ends left for the second season to pick up. Except for Kid, most of the people who did the crime are dead. But there are some possible storylines for the second season that could be explored.

The kid is still being blackmailed by the bodyguard, and he is also carrying the guilt of killing his own brother. If the show is picked up for another season, this could be where it starts. There’s also a chance that his crimes will catch up with him, which would also be fun to see.
