The six-part comedy series will also be available on Prime Video. It is based, loosely, on the life of the series creator and star Ana de la Reguera (Goliath, Army of the Dead).
When we left Ana, she had just realized that playing Morticia Adams wasn’t the dream job she’d been hoping for.
The second season picks up with Ana about a year later when she is working on a TV show in Los Angeles that is reminiscent of a crummy sitcom from the 1990s. There is no doubt that she is working hard, but if she is miserable, then what difference does that make?
“Ana is working on this new series in Season 2 and she is utterly sad,” de la Reguera says exclusively to Deadline. I believe that the best comedy is derived from the suffering of others, thus Season 2 should not disappoint. Ana is learning the hard way that sometimes a wished-for outcome is not what one would choose.
All she wanted was to have a stable acting career, but things went wrong. The fact that the show is successful only makes things worse. Also, this season, Ana has a new rival, an eight-year-old girl named Miercoles, whom she mocks by calling Martes. I mean, come on, that’s great.
Ana Season 3 Release Date
The second season of Ana has not yet launched, and its creators have not given a specific release date. Season 3 would likely debut by the end of 2023 if the second season was released in 2022.

Similar to the debut season, the second will likely consist of ten episodes. However, more information about the upcoming seasons’ production has not yet been revealed by the makers.
Season 1 Recap
It was revealed in the Season 1 finale that Ana’s mom Nena (Tina Romero) had lost her house after she showed up at her daughter’s house for Christmas with a lot of enormous luggage. Nena will have finally found a permanent home and be happier than ever when the show returns.
“Unfortunately,” de la Reguera says with a chuckle, “Ana’s mom now lives with her in Los Angeles.” She currently divides her time between Los Angeles and Mexico, but she is the one who is experiencing all the adventures and having a good time. As Ana struggles, she celebrates Ana’s accomplishments.

After Carlos Miranda left the show, the second season will include a new Papasito played by David Palacio. When he first appears, Papasito 2.0 will play guitar and sing to show off his musical abilities.
Part of the tension this season comes from De La Reguera’s claim that the character will eventually become more well-known than Ana.

Miranda, who has since landed a role on ABC’s Station 19, says, “We’re going to miss Carlos so much because we had such amazing chemistry and he’s such a great actor.” David isn’t attempting to copy what Carlos did last season, so the character is getting his unique spin. As a hilarious inside joke, we poke fun at the actor changeover.
In addition, de la Reguera hints at the difficulties that lie in store for any potential romance between Ana and Papisto.

You’ll have to wait and see how Seasons 2 and 3 unfold to find out. Her romantic life, in particular, faces several challenges in the future, she says. Since Christian Meier’s character is introduced in Season 2, her romantic life is in shambles. To put it bluntly, Ana’s life is a disaster, and nothing ever goes right.
Scenes from the 2003 Spanish-language telenovela Luciana y Nicolás, in which Meier and de la Reguera featured together, also appeared in Season 1. After 20 years apart, Christian and Ana are brought back together in the new season at the studio’s behest to boost ratings.

We may expect Season 3 to focus on Ana’s growing sense of self-awareness and introspection when it finally arrives. Her sister Chock (Paula Dávila) will become a more significant figure.

De La Reguera has announced that, as was always intended, Season 3 will be the last. As creator, star, producer, and writer, the Mexican-born actress wears several hats, which can be demanding given that much of the series is inspired by her own life. However, the self-deprecating honesty and rawness of her performances, as well as the confidence she exudes, are what set this series apart.
From the beginning, I planned for a total of three seasons for the show. I came up with the plot in my head, and that’s how the film was made. Beyond that, I didn’t feel like continuing to chat. Talking about myself and laying my cards on the table is exhausting. “I do believe there is a limit,” she said.
A chuckle escaped her lips as she summed up, “Unless someone wants to pay me a lot of money, then we can return with Ana again someday for sure.”
