Since April 11, Johnny Depp has been in court for defamation. He is suing his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million (£38.7 million) in damages, saying that she slandered him in an opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 called “I spoke out against sexual violence—and faced our culture’s wrath. This must change.” Heard is suing him back for $100 million, which is about £79.5 million.

Heard brought up his past relationship with supermodel Kate Moss when she testified last week about a fight she said she had with Depp and her sister Whitney on a staircase.

Heard said of the alleged 2015 fight between Depp and her sister, “Whitney put herself in the line of fire.” “She tried to make Johnny stop. She had her back to the stairs, and Johnny hit her with a swing… I don’t wait and think about it. I think of Kate Moss and stairs right away.”

Johnny Depp’s lawyers seemed to be happy when Heard compared the alleged fight to a rumor that Depp pushed Moss down the stairs when they were together. It is thought that his legal team will have proof to disprove the claims. This should become clear during the cross-examination next week.

What is the Actual Reason for Separation?

After being set up by celebrity columnist George Wayne, Johnny Depp and Kate Moss were in a public relationship from 1994 to 1997. Even though they were one of the “IT” couples of the 1990s, there were reports of fights and criminal arrests in their relationship. In the end, Depp and Moss broke up in 1997. He said it was because he was young and stupid and that he let his work get in the way of his relationship with Moss.
