The My Hero Academia franchise was confirmed to be coming to Fortnite in the video game’s upcoming season 4 chapter 1 premiere on Saturday. The speculation started when a promo for the new season appeared to show an All Might-style pickaxe going through the frame.
The news came after multiple renowned Fortnite leakers revealed via promotional imagery that the My Hero Academia copyright was in place for the forthcoming season. Following that was an official announcement from Fortnite, which featured series protagonist Izuku Midoriya in the game employing his signature “Smash” attacks.
While some fans are ecstatic about Izuku Midoriya’s inclusion in the game, others appear upset or angry that he will appear before other anime characters.
Fans of My Hero Academia Are Astonished That Deku is in Fortnite, Especially in Comparison to Other Series and Characters.
As previously said, many My Hero Academia fans are quite dissatisfied with the latest revelation of Deku’s inclusion in the game. While one would expect fans of the series to be ecstatic at the thought of playing its protagonist, many are dismayed that Deku will be the latest anime-based character to join the wildly popular battle royale.

The collaborations also increased Fortnite gamers’ awareness of anime titles such as Naruto and Dragon Ball, and vice versa. Given the history and mutually beneficial success of these anime collaborations, it is predictable that My Hero Academia, one of the most popular new-generation anime and manga, would seize this chance.

Unfortunately, fan response is not as predictable or positive as it was for the prior two anime series partnerships. Given that Naruto and Dragon Ball are two of the most recognizable names in the anime and manga industries, this is understandable. Many Fortnite players appear to be confused about the series as a whole and who Deku is.
@SLOplays, a YouTube streamer, and Twitter user shared a video of Deku in-game on their account to show how confused and excited they were that Deku had joined the game. But a lot of Fortnite players replied to the post and asked who Deu is, what anime he’s from, and whether or not the show is worth watching.

On the other hand, most of the complaints from My Hero Academia fans who have responded to the post are about Deku coming before other, more famous characters. My Hero Academia is a very popular series, both in general and among the younger generation. But it’s likely that the collaboration won’t be as successful as one with Bleach, One Piece, or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure adaptation, which may have just wrapped up.
In any case, in the comments section of @SLOplays’ tweet, people are starting to talk about different things. Fans of both franchises seem to be at odds with each other, arguing about how good it is that Deku is in the game and how much it might cost to work together.
