Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is finally in UK theatres, and it’s getting more good reviews. Many people are calling it the best Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame.
After Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa, died of colon cancer in 2020, it was decided not to replace him in the role. This movie is a tribute to him.
In the sequel, the famous Marvel Comics character Namor is not the main character. Instead, Shuri (Letitia Wright), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), M’Baku (Winston Duke), and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) take the lead and fight Namor.
Marvel hasn’t said for sure that there will be a Black Panther 2, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever leaves the door open for more movies. Read on to find out what we know about Black Panther 3 so far.
Renewed Status
Before Wakanda Forever came out, there was no confirmation that there would be a third Black Panther movie. However, the movie ends with a message that says “Black Panther will return,” so it seems likely that there will be the third film.
In late October 2022, producer Nate Moore told Collider, “We want to see how audiences react to the film, and I think Ryan [Coogler] is interested in how the film plays before we decide.

He also said, “We’ve talked about ideas for a third movie if we get to make one, but until the movie comes out, we don’t want to count our chickens because you never know what’s going to happen.”
Coogler himself said in a separate interview with Gizmodo that he hadn’t “thought about” what the future holds for more Black Panther movies.

“I’m not the best multitasker in the world when it comes to writing and directing,” he said. “I’ve kind of got to do what’s in front of me and be focused. When it comes to producing, I’m more set up to be able to do multiple things. To plan things, I have a great production company and great collaborators who can help move things along.

In the meantime, we know that we’ll be going back to Wakanda for a Disney Plus TV show, but we don’t know more about it yet, like what it will be called or when it will come out.
Danai Gurira will play Okoye again in the series. Some reports say that it could be a story about how the character got started.
Black Panther 3 Release Date
We don’t know when it will come out yet, but since most of Marvel Studios’ movies for the next two years have already been announced, it’s safe to say that it will be a while before the next Black Panther movie comes out, if it gets the green light as expected.

There’s a chance that Black Panther 3 won’t come out until Phase 7 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That could mean we have to wait until late 2026. That would be the same length of time between the first two Black Panther movies: four years.

Still, three unannounced Phase 6 projects are set to come out on July 25, 2025, November 7, 2025, and February 13, 2026, so Black Panther 3 could still take one of those slots. On this page, we’ll let you know about all the latest news.
Black Panther 3 Plotline
Still, it’s way too early to make any big claims about what the next Black Panther movie will be about. Even if a threequel is announced soon, plot details are likely to be kept secret until very close to the movie’s release date.
The ending of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, on the other hand, left a lot of questions unanswered, especially about the uneasy alliance between Namor and the Wakandans. A new movie could go in many different directions.

Namor tells his cousin Namora at the end of Wakanda Forever that he is playing the long game and that one day, the world will turn against Wakanda, leaving Talokan as its only ally. This prediction could come true in a third film.

There’s also Toussiant, T’Challa and Nakia’s son, who is introduced in the scene after the credits at the end of Wakanda Forever. He tells Shuri that he is Prince T’Challa, the son of King T’Challa. There’s a good chance that this character will be in the third movie at least a little bit, though it’s still not clear how big of a role he will have.
Black Panther 3 Cast Members
Most of the main characters from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is likely to come back for a third movie. This means we’ll probably see more of Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor, who has now made an uneasy alliance with the Wakandans.
Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Michaela Coel as Aneka, and Mabel Cadena as Namora could also come back. Some characters from the first Black Panther movie, like Daniel Kaluuya’s W’Kabi, could also come back after missing this one.

And since the number of characters in the MCU is growing quickly, there’s a good chance that a lot of other big-name stars who are already in the MCU or are going to join at some point could also play a part. We’ll put any new information here as soon as we hear about it.
Angela Bassett, whose character Ramonda was killed off in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, doesn’t seem likely to come back.
