She had difficulty breathing and slipped after returning from a shopping excursion to Newport Beach, California, where she tragically lost her life. Her family, including her mother Constance, stepfather Andre, and husband Anthony Welch, continues to this day.
We are deeply grieved by her premature loss,” the family said in a statement released to Deadline.
Yakira was a shining example of what it meant to follow one’s ambitions and a source of hope for the people around her.

To put “this devotion” into action, CureConstanceFoundation was founded “out of the need to provide financial choices for those in a health crisis.” Mom Constance says this about her daughter: “For all of time and eternity, I shall remember her and cherish her. I don’t know what I’ll do without her.
Who Is Yakira Chambers?
Chicago native and Lindblom Math & Science Academy alum Yakira Chambers grew up in the Windy City. She went to Southern Illinois University and got a BS with a focus in IT administration. After finishing her MBA at SIU-Edwardsville, she found work as a manager of software quality assurance in St. Louis.

What Happened To Yakira Chambers?
A mall security guard found Yakira Chambers unconscious and unable to breathe outside the building. A death certificate was then issued for her. She wed Anthony Welch and became Anthony’s stepmother to their son André. Constance Chambers is her mom. Her family reportedly started a GoFundMe to collect money for her burial and other costs, and they are also organizing a memorial service.

Before Yakira Chambers became famous in Hollywood, she worked as a software quality assurance manager in St. Louis. Yakira’s first acting role was in 2007. Her debut cinematic appearance was in Eye See Me. She went on to star in I Know Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, where she once again collaborated with Dugan.

The TV comedy series “M.O. Diaries,” on which she has worked as an executive producer since 2012, is a favorite of hers. Her role as First Lady Michelle Obama in “M.O. Diaries” was a breakout role for her. Then Yakira Welch started working on a string of movies about modern social issues.
