The rumored Game of Thrones spin-off about Jon Snow has a unique problem. People had very different reactions to season 8 of Game of Thrones, and that’s putting it nicely. Since it was announced that Kit Harington would be back for the Jon Snow sequel series, fans have been wondering how the series would work, since the series finale made so many people dislike the franchise.
House of the Dragon has won back some fans, but since it is a prequel, fans are happy to know that none of the events from Game of Thrones will be shown. Harington hasn’t said much about the Jon Snow sequel, but he has said that after he killed Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow would be in a bad place.
That’s a plot point that can help Jon Snow grow as a character, but that’s all we know so far about the next book. The Game of Thrones series came to a pretty clear end, and some of the actors may not want to come back. How can the Jon Snow series succeed, even though the odds are against it?
Game of Thrones Season 8
Most likely, Season 8 won’t be taken out of the canon, and at this point, fans have accepted that what happened in it did happen. Fans’ biggest complaint about season 8 was that it didn’t have any breathing room. Before, the characters had been in charge of the plot, but now the plot was in charge of the characters.
Characters did things that were completely different from what they had done before because the plot required it. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) lost a few IQ points when he suddenly cared about Cersei (Lena Headey).

Sansa, played by Sophie Turner, irritates Daenerys for no good reason and is openly mean to her, even though Daenerys saved Winterfell. Daenerys goes crazy because the plot requires it. She becomes cruel and cruel, which is an ending that even Clarke says she didn’t want for the character.
The Long Night is one of the worst examples of how quickly Season 8 moved through the plot. Fans not only said that the episode was too dark to see, but also that the White Walkers were the main threat to the series. From the first scene of the show, they were shown to be a real threat. After years of Game of Thrones building up to their invasion, they were defeated in just one episode.

The series’ plot then centers on who will get the Iron Throne. This goes against one of the main ideas of the series, which is that people are fighting over small things while real, dangerous things are coming. The show throws that away and doesn’t even explain what the White Walkers wanted, other than a short line about the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) wanting to destroy records of human history.
This was probably because the Bloodmoon pilot was being made at the time, and it would have told a lot about the first Long Night. Since that show never happened, putting the White Walker’s motivation on that show was a bad idea.

The Jon Snow sequel series should look at what happened after the White Walkers and try to figure out what made them do what they did. Did they have a way of living? Martin has hinted that they have something to do with how the seasons aren’t the same every year. Maybe that problem will be solved in the next movie.

Jon Snow’s Misery Makes His Got Ending Worse
The original ending of Game of Thrones for Jon Snow was sad. On the one hand, Aegon Targaryen was kicked out of the land he saved from certain destruction. On the other hand, leaving the Wall gave Jon Snow a much-needed fresh start.

Jon always looked uncomfortable in positions of power, whether he was Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch or a friend of Daenerys Targaryen. Even though he is a good leader and soldier, “I don’t want it” is more than just a catchphrase for the Iron Throne. The only time Jon Snow seemed happy in Game of Thrones was when he joined the Wildlings for a short time.

So, Jon’s story arc ended on Game of Thrones season 8 with a bit of happiness. Going where the Wildlings are promised the freedom, friendship, family, and newness that Jon Snow never found south of the Wall. Even though his time on Game of Thrones was hard, Jon’s ending hinted at a life without politics and hidden bloodlines.
Kit Harington’s confirmation that Jon brought his emotional baggage past the Wall and now spends his days feeling bad about everything that happened in Game of Thrones takes the sweetness out of his bittersweet ending and makes his trip north a real punishment.
