Roger Rose Antiguan-American model Philip was born on March 15, 2001, and his name is pronounced: “A-ron.” She was the first ever black, transgender, and physically challenged model to be signed with a major modeling agency in 2018, and since then, she has appeared in numerous high-profile high-fashion photo shoots and ads. Philip made her runway debut in 2021 as an exclusive for Moschino’s spring/summer 2022 fashion show, making her the first model for a significant premium fashion company to walk while using a wheelchair.
About the Aaron Rose Philip
A biography on her experiences growing up with cerebral palsy, This Kid Can Fly: It’s About Ability (Not Disability), was released in 2016 by Philip at the age of 14. Tanya Bolden and I co-wrote the book, which HarperCollins released.
When she made the decision to pursue modeling, Philip was a junior in high school. She was found through her social media, where she had become aware of the underrepresentation of trans women of color and people with disabilities in the fashion business.

Through her editorial features in the publications W, i-D, Dazed, ELLE, Allure, and Paper, as well as on Refinery29 and Now This, Philip has actively campaigned towards an inclusive industry. The New York Times published a feature of Philip in 2018 and praised his career as evidence of a more diverse industry. Aaron and her companion Chella Man were recently featured in and photographed by the magazine Vogue while discussing the absence of disability representation.

In an interview with supermodel Naomi Campbell, Philip is featured on the cover of Paper magazine’s “Pride” issue. Additionally, she appeared on the Spring/Summer 21 cover of INDIE and the September Issue cover of S Moda for El Pais. Philip has filmed editorials for American, British, and Italian Vogue as well as starred in commercials for Dove, Sephora, Nike, and Outdoor Voices. The music video for Miley Cyrus’ song “Mother’s Daughter,” in which Philip appeared, has amassed over 100 million views to date.

When Philip closed a show for Willie Norris Workshop in 2019, it was her first time walking the runway. Philip has additionally appeared in Collina Strada’s lookbooks and digital runway events. Philip has become one of Marc Jacobs’ closest and most frequent collaborators, working with the designer on a variety of media initiatives. Philip debuted on television in 2019 on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS.

She was chosen by Moschino’s creative director, Jeremy Scott, to be the face of the company’s fall/winter 2020 advertising campaign, which was captured by photographers Luigi + Iango. She is the first model to use a wheelchair to walk a runway show for a significant premium fashion company. Philip made her runway debut exclusively for Moschino’s spring/summer 2022 catwalk show at New York Fashion Week in 2021.
