Greta Gerwig plays Babbette, Jack Gladney’s wife, and Adam Driver is the show’s star. Gladney is a professor of Hitler studies. Murray Siskind, played by Don Cheadle, is Gladney’s coworker.

Similar to the book, the movie centers on professor Jack Gladney, who teaches Hitler studies, and his family. He is on his fourth marriage with his pill-popping wife Babbette, and they have a large brood of kids between them in addition to their own.
