You People is a forthcoming American buddy comedy film directed by Kenya Barris, which he co-wrote with Jonah Hill. The picture boasts an ensemble cast that includes Eddie Murphy, Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, Sam Jay, Molly Gordon, Mike Epps, Nia Long, Deon Cole, Rhea Perlman, and David Duchovny.
About the You People
According to the official synopsis of the movie, “In this comedy from Kenya Barris, a young couple and their families find themselves evaluating modern love and family relations among clashing cultures, cultural expectations, and generational gaps.”
Additionally listed as a producer on the movie’s title is Kevin Misher, who previously worked with Barris and Murphy on the 2021 movie “Coming 2 America.” Executives producing the movie are David Hyman, Matt Dines, Hale Rothstein, Alison Goodwin, Mychelle Deschamps, Andy Berman, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster.
Barris has directed short films and music videos before, but this will be his first feature-length film. He has already directed a few episodes of his own “Black-ish” creation and the 2020 series “#BlackAF.”
