Who is Vicky Pryce? What Happened With Her Husband?

Vicky Pryce, sometimes known as Vasiliki Vicky Pryce, was born on July 15, 1952, in Athens, Kingdom of the Greeks. She has spent most of her time outside and in and out of her childhood house. She relocated to London when she was 17 years old to finish her education. She pursued her bachelor’s degree in economics (BSc) and her master’s degree in monetary economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London (MSc).

Since her school days, she has enjoyed biking in addition to keeping her academics on track. Everyone who had known her from childhood agreed that she had a promising future in her. She began her career as an economist and later served as the head economist at the William and Glyn’s Bank, which is now a division of Scotland’s Royal Bank.

After earning her MSc in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Pryce began working as an economist with Williams & Glyn’s Bank. From 1973 to 1983, she served as the bank’s head economist.

She changed jobs from Williams & Glyn’s Bank to Exxon Europe, where she worked as a corporate economist from 1983 to 1986. Later, from 1986 until 2001, she served as chief economist once more for Peat Marwick McLintock and KPMG International Limited.

In August 2002, Pryce became the first woman to hold the position of Chief Economic Advisor at the Department of Trade and Industry. Pryce was also chosen to serve as the Chairwoman of the GoodCorporation corporation, a group that supports moral corporate conduct.

Academic Career of Pryce

In addition to being a top-notch economist in business, Pryce also held the position of professor. From 2002 to 2008, she served as a visiting lecturer at City University’s Cass Business School. She also joined the Society of Business Economists in 2002, and from 2008 to 2011, she served as a guest professor at the Imperial College Business School.

She also made history in 2010 by becoming the first woman to hold the position of Master of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants. From 2021 to the present, Pryce also serves as a visiting professor at King’s College London and Birmingham City University.

Pryce was highly known for having a broad range of employment in the corporate and academic worlds. She was also very involved in her relationships and personal life.

Everything was going smoothly until the two decided to get a divorce in 1981 and end their marriage. After her divorce, she concentrated on her career until she met Chris Huhne. Three years later, in 1984, the couple decided to wed.

After their marriage, Pryce’s second husband, Chris Huhne, went on to become both the MP for Eastleigh for the Liberal Democrats and a member of the European Parliament. With her second marriage, she produced three kids.

She married Chris Huhne, a significant figure in the political world, after her first marriage, which began in 1981, ended in divorce. Despite Pryce’s love for her second husband, their marriage also ended in divorce.

In January 2011, the pair filed for divorce, ending their marriage. The two received an eight-month prison sentence for perverting the course of justice after going through a divorce. Following her trial, Pryce was found guilty, and Huhne entered a guilty plea. Together, they spent nine weeks behind bars.

Despite being deeply in love since their marriage, Pryce and Huhne divorced on the grounds that Huhne had cheated on them and their children with Carina Trimingham.
