Cicada, alias David Hersch, played by Chris Klein, is the new villain in The Flash Season 5. (The American Pie series, Election, We Were Soldiers). According to Deadline, the character is a “grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family was torn apart by metahumans, Cicada now intends to eliminate the disease — one metahuman at a time.” (Hence the parallel to Vulture, the MCU’s “blue-collar” villain.)
