Mindhunter Season 2 Release Date: Will Mindhunter Return for a Third Season?

With Mindhunter, a slow-burning detective drama about the beginning of the FBI’s criminal profiling program in the 1970s, David Fincher made his comeback to television in 2017.

Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) of the bureau’s Behavioural Sciences unit were first introduced to us in the television series as they worked to understand patterns in murderous behavior by interviewing incarcerated serial killers in the style of Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs.

Before the first season had aired, the show was given a second season order; it will debut this year.

In a 2017 interview with Billboard, Fincher disclosed that season 2 would focus on a legendary string of killings that occurred in Atlanta between 1979 and 1981 and resulted in the deaths of 28 children, teenagers, and adults (all of whom were African Americans). Wayne Williams, an Atlanta native, was tried for two of the murders and found guilty.

Damon Herriman has been cast as Charles Manson in addition to this. Surprisingly, he already portrays the notorious murderer in Quentin Tarantino’s next movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Ford’s techniques were questioned by Wendy, Bill, and their employer after season 1 because he grew more careless with their subjects. He gets given a bear hug by serial murderer Ed Kemper (Cameron Britton) in the film’s spectacular ending, and after breaking free, had a panic attack in the hallway after realizing how frightening the scenario had become.
