Following the debut of Eternals on Disney Plus, fans may be wondering if there will be a sequel. While the first film sets up Eternals 2, it is unclear whether we will see it.
While Chloé Zhao’s epic picture has been acclaimed for its varied cast, Eternals has received mixed reviews. It ushers in a brand-new superhero team to the MCU (especially for a Marvel movie).
Zhao would be willing to return if Marvel confirmed it. “I would go back in a heartbeat working with the folks at Marvel,” she told The Playlist.
Nate Moore, a Marvel producer, told The Toronto Sun, “It’s not something you need.” It goes without saying that we have ideas for future destinations, but the first of these three does not have to exist.”
But, as we all know, never say never when it comes to Marvel. With that in mind, here is what is currently known about a potential Eternals 2 sequel.
Eternals 2 Potential Release Date: When Can We Expect the Sequel to Eternals?
According to sources, We don’t have an official release date for Eternals 2 because Marvel hasn’t confirmed it yet, but we will have to wait until at least late 2024.

However, with D23 approaching, there could be a surprise upgrade in the works.
Eternals 2 Cast: Who Might Return for the Sequel?
If the sequel is confirmed, we can anticipate most of the actors to return, but the first film had its share of losses.
Salma Hayek’s Ajak was assassinated by Deviants (with Ikaris’ assistance), while the lead Deviant Kro (voiced by Bill Skarsgard) killed Don Lee’s Gilgamesh. Richard Madden’s Ikaris, after realizing the mistake of his ways, soared into the sun at the film’s climax (lol, sure), seemingly to his death. Despite their 7,000-year history, none of the deaths exclude flashbacks.
That concludes the deaths, but Sersi transformed Lia McHugh’s Sprite into a human, potentially ruling out a return. If Sprite does return, McHugh’s character may be recast.
We may expect to see Gemma Chan’s Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry’s Phaistos, Lauren Ridloff’s Makkari, Barry Keoghan’s Drug, and Angelina Jolie’s Thena return.
Kit Harington is also expected to reprise his role as Dane Whitman, maybe as the Black Knight, as hinted at in the film’s post-credits scene (more on that in a bit).

Speaking of credits sequences, the sequel will have an added surge of star power in the shape of Harry Styles, who made his MCU debut in the mid-credits scene as Eros, aka Starfox, aka Thanos’ brother. However, he recently questioned his return to the MCU, stating that he wasn’t sure when he’d make another film.
Patton Oswalt, who played Pip the Troll, may return… unless he’s chastised for leaking the sequel info.
Eternals 2 Plot: What Will the Plot of Eternals 2 Be About?
While Jack Kirby’s comics inspired the first film, they primarily told their own story, making it difficult to predict what would happen in the sequel by looking at the comics. Fortunately, we can just focus on the original film’s thrilling ending.
After rejecting their master and creator Arishem and preventing Tiamut from murdering Earth, the Eternals assume that all is resolved. They are badly mistaken, however, as Arishem removes Sersi, Kingo, and Phaistos from Earth.
Arnhem tells them that, like in the comics, he intends to study their memories to determine whether humanity is worthy of survival.
Makkari, Drug, and Thena, who are traveling on the Domo, the Eternals’ ship, to notify other Eternals of their true nature, avoid Arishem for whatever reason. They suspect that Arishem is to blame for Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos’ “disappearance” in the scene before the credits. Enter Eros, who offers to help them find their friends and appears on the Domo.
While Eros and the Eternals may appear in later MCU films, this appears to be a clear setup for Eternals 2 rather than a separate MCU endeavor. The Black Knight may accompany Dane as he approaches the Ebony Blade in the post-credits sequence.

Harington told Digital Spy that he didn’t know what the future held for him, but he didn’t rule out reprising his role as the Black Knight. “As far as I’m concerned, I’m Dane Whitman in this movie and go see the movie and you might find out a bit more,” the actor stated. I try to live in the now as much as possible, especially at work.
“I wanted to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this franchise to hopefully have a future where there’s a little more to Dane than just being human,” the actor stated.

The Road to Galactus
Kang represents the present, but the Devourer of Worlds represents the future.
While Galactus is not a Celestial in the comics, many fans believe he will become one in the MCU. His larger-than-life presence is strikingly similar to Arishem, and Eternals creators Kaz and Ryan Firpo have even hinted at incorporating the character into a possible sequel.
The 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy demonstrated to fans that a universe-uniting villain may have a prominent role while storing his best work for later. Given that Galactus will most certainly be employed as an Avengers enemy in the MCU, Eternals 2 can introduce him in the same way Thanos was in Guardians of the Galaxy.
This allows Eternals 2 to focus on Harry Styles’ Eros while also laying the groundwork for their eventual merging with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Furthermore, this provides a link between Eternals 2 and Fantastic Four. On the page, Galactus is frequently associated with Marvel’s founding family, and even if he doesn’t appear in Marvel Studios’ impending Fantastic Four revival, the notion of him can be planted.
Conclusion
Arishem has abducted three Earthlings—Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos—to use their memories in deciding whether or not humanity deserves to survive. Meanwhile, Makkari, Druig, and Thena left to reveal they’re true mission to their fellow Eternals. For more details visit our website Jerseyshorevibe.com
