Nier: Automata Anime Episode 2 Release Date 2023 Confirmed: Global Release Timings for Upcoming Episodes!
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a has become one of the best anime adaptations in recent years. A-1 Pictures went above and beyond what fans expected with the anime’s captivating visuals, sound effects, and mecha designs. Fans still don’t understand one thing about NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, and that’s its story.
As was already said, the video game’s director, Yoko Taro, hinted that the anime would be its own thing and not follow the story of the game. But the first episode of the anime series Or not to be, called “Glory to Mankind,” was completely taken from the first episode of NieR Automata.
For now, fans can only wait for the second episode to air, which will tell them if the anime will follow a different plot or not.
Recap of Episode 1 of Nier: Automata Ver1.1a
After 2B’s whole unit was destroyed on the way, she took over as captain and destroyed a few Medium Flyer machines. Later, she ran into a huge ship, which she quickly got away from by putting her equipment into flight mode. 2B was able to get into the base of the Goliath machines and later had a fight with a big coal mining machine.
Even when 2B’s Pod was firing at full power, she couldn’t bring down the machine. 9S joined 2B because his operator told him to, and he saved her by firing a lot of missiles at the machine. The first person told the second person to look for the core inside the facility while the first person flew above with his equipment to keep an eye on what was going on.
NieR Automata anime is really good!!!
one episode in might be too early to judge but it seem to combine route A and B while still being a 1:1 adaptation. pic.twitter.com/vR97Xls0Z9— 大きなカニ 🦀YORA (@yoracrab) January 7, 2023
Several Medium Flyer planes swarmed around 9S. As soon as 2B saw the core, it merged with the whole building and turned it into a Goliath weapon that was still not finished. 9S got there in time and tried to hack the left arm of Goliath’s coal machine to shut it down. But the machine didn’t want him in its mainframe, so it threw him across with a huge blow.
After 2B took over 9S’s equipment, he was able to destroy the Goliath perfectly. Later, they were surrounded by three more Goliaths, so they decided to self-destruct by fusing their black box. After a while, both YoRHa androids woke up at the satellite base in their new bodies. Since 9S waited until the last minute to send the 2B’s data, he didn’t remember meeting her.

What to Expect From NieR: Automata Ver. 1.1a Episode 2
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a hasn’t announced the official name of the second episode or given a sneak peek. Aside from adapting the whole of the video game’s first chapter, “Glory to Mankind,” the last scene of episode 1 was a scene from the second chapter, “Revival,” where 2B and 9S meet again at the 13th satellite orbit base.
Since the anime seems to be following the plot of the video game so far, the next episode will probably be based on NieR Automata’s second chapter. Episode 2 could then go back in time and show how people fled Earth in 5204 AD because they were scared of the rampaging machines and took refuge on the Moon, which was the closest satellite planet.
Fans can still hope that episode 2 will start with a real alternative plot, as Yoko Toro says, since the second chapter of the video game, “Revival,” is mostly about characters going on a recon mission and finding the last humans at the Resistance Camp.
