If you are a huge admirer of fiction about the zombie apocalypse, you may recognize Highschool of the Dead. This classic anime about a zombie apocalypse with high school children as the primary characters was a huge hit with audiences back then.
The horror anime Highschool of the Dead, also known as Apocalyptic Academy: Highschool of the Dead, is based on manga of the same name. Daisuke and Shoji Sato were responsible for the artwork. The animation was published between September 2006 and May 2013, but the production was unfinished when Daisuke Sato died in 2017.
In 2011, the first anime version was produced, and it was adored by fans worldwide. The series was so popular that it is still regarded as one of the most popular Television Anime Series to date. Highschool of the Dead was not renewed for a second season, as was the case with a number of other excellent anime series.
Recap of Highschool of The Dead Season 2
The series takes place in a post-apocalyptic Japan where a global pandemic turns many people into violent zombies. The story then follows a group of people who are still alive after the pandemic. Most of them are a teacher and former students who are trying to stay alive. The group also has to deal with another group of survivors, many of whom are not nearly as kind as they are.
Some viewers also feel like the plot is moving too quickly because things happen so quickly. When the dead started to come back to life, chaos broke out in Japan. As these zombies start to cause trouble at Takashi Kimuro’s high school, he has to kill his best friend, who got bit and became one of the zombies. After making a promise to protect Rei Yamamoto, the girlfriend of his best friend, they left their dangerous school and found that society had already fallen.
After everything, Takashi and Rei join forces with other students who also managed to stay alive to find their families and find out what caused the pandemic.
