The release date for the fifth season is set for February 24, 2023. Interviews with some of Formula 1’s biggest stars and never-before-seen archival video highlight this documentary.
The F1 Championship seasons of 2022 and 2023 will be chronicled in the upcoming fifth and sixth seasons of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive,” both of which have been renewed by Netflix.

Paul Martin, who produced the 2019 documentary “Diego Maradona” for Box-to-Box Films, and James Gay-Rees, who produced the Academy Award-winning documentary “Senna,” has continued as the project’s executive producer.

The documentary ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ has also been credited with helping to significantly increase the sport’s popularity in several regions. We timed the release of Seasons 3 and 4 so that they would both be available to viewers exactly nine days before the start of the races.
As of now, it appears that this pattern will continue till 2023.

While Verstappen did not feature in Season 4, he does appear in the Season 5 trailer, which is a strong indicator that he was interviewed by the DTS team.

Associated Press quotes him as saying, “I understand that stuff needs to be done to improve the popularity in America, but I don’t like being a part of it.” This is why he won’t be appearing in the upcoming fourth season. However, as a driver, it’s not fun for me to be a part of.”
He elaborated, saying, “They invented a couple of rivalries that don’t exist. Consequently, I stopped participating and refused further interviews, as this would leave me with no evidence to present.
