Sanditon is a British historical drama TV show based on an unfinished manuscript by Jane Austen. It stars Rose Williams, Theo James, and Ben Lloyd-Hughes. During the Regency era, the story is about a young, naive heroine who is trying to figure out the new seaside resort of Sanditon.
Due to the fact that the book wasn’t finished (Austen only wrote eleven chapters), the original work was used for most of the first episode. After that, Davies used the characters who had already been developed to finish the story.
The book is set in a seaside town during a time of social change. At the time of her death in 1817, Austen had written 24,000 words of the novel.
The first eight parts of the series aired on ITV in the UK on August 25, 2019, and on PBS in the US on January 12, 2020. PBS supported the production as part of its Masterpiece anthology. As part of a partnership between PBS and BritBox, a second and third series were ordered in May 2021. ITV bought the series for later linear broadcast (i.e., broadcast programming; compare, OTT)

Sanditon Season 3 Storyline
It is more crucial than ever to understand that Sanditon, Jane Austen’s final novel, served as the inspiration for the Sanditon trilogy. Similar to the plot of the first season, it is still unresolved. Because of her circumstance, she avoided writing the story’s conclusion and contributed to her fate. The works of Jane Austen sustain her legacy, as is well known. The finale will be as joyful as those of her previous works as a result.
Charlotte returned to Willingdon, Sussex, after a conflict with her true love, widower Alexander Colbourne, and was engaged to a local boy she didn’t like. The second season of Sanditon ended abruptly.

Beginning most likely with Charlotte getting ready for her wedding and Colbourne maybe making a last-minute statement of love, the third and final season will likely follow this pattern.
Heiress Georgiana Lamb is expected to weed out her many suitors who are only interested in her money and resume her hunt for real love. The main lead couple’s new life paths after they divorced as a consequence of a plot between their families are the focus of the third season’s narrative.

Sanditon Season 3 Release Date
Season 3 of Sanditon will premiere in the UK on ITV1 in early 2023, not on BritBox like previous seasons. ITV hasn’t said when it will come out, though.
We do know that it will be shown for the first time in the US on Masterpiece on March 19, 2023. We really hope the next season starts soon in the UK because we can’t wait!

The order for Season 3 came in May 2021. Sad news, though: season 3 of Sanditon will definitely be the last one. Between July and December 2021, seasons 2 and 3 of Sanditon were filmed right after each other.
