A Netflix Premiere Date Has Been Announced for David Fincher’s the Killer: Take a Short Look on Trailer

The next David Fincher movie will be released on this day, at last! The Killer, an adaptation of the French graphic novel series of the same name, is the three-time Academy Award nominee director’s upcoming project. Mank, his most recent feature, was released in 2020. On November 10, 2023, the movie will be available on Netflix.

Luc Jacamon and Alexis Nolent, writing under the pen name Matz, are the creators of the Killer graphic novel series. Twelve parts of the series were released between 1998 and 2013. The novels follow an unnamed assassin who, despite being the best at what he does for years, starts to falter and have a psychological crisis. The movie’s main role will go to Michael Fassbender.

Since X-Men: Dark Phoenix in 2019, it will be his first movie. The following is the official plot summary for the movie: Following a tragic near-death experience, an assassin fights both his employers and himself while on a global manhunt, which he claims isn’t personal.

The most recent Fincher and Netflix project is this one. His most recent movie, Mank, and his television show, Mindhunter, are both available on the streamer. Fincher signed on to direct this adaptation back in 2009, so it has been a long time coming for him. The movie’s original location was Paramount, but after the filmmaker agreed to a four-year contract with the streaming service in 2020, Netflix has become the movie’s new home.

With movies like Se7en, Fight Club, and Zodiac under his belt in 2009, the news of Fincher directing was already exciting. Now, though, it’s much more thrilling because his filmography now includes even more iconic movies, including The Social Network and Gone Girl.

Fincher will be directing from an Andrew Kevin Walker-adapted script. BAFTA-nominated author Walker previously collaborated with Fincher on the Se7en script. Other movies like Sleepy Hollow and Windfall were also written by him. Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton will all appear with Fassbender in The Killer.

The graphic novels were first released by Editions Casterman in the French language, and after being translated into English, Archaia Studios Press released them there. Alexandra Milchan will serve as the executive producer on this film adaption, which will be made by Ceán Chaffin.
