For her book club in 2019, Reese Witherspoon chose this novel, and now, as part of her production firm Hello Sunshine, she has purchased the rights to adapt it into a limited series. Daisy Jones & The Six seems destined to join the ranks of critically acclaimed shows like “Little Fires Everywhere,” “Big Little Lies,” and “From Scratch.”
The show, which will premiere exclusively on Prime Video, is being called a “musical drama” and will follow the band’s meteoric ascent and demise. What is Daisy Jones & the Six About?
Daisy Jones, a promising teenage vocalist, is signed to a record deal with legendary rock band The Six in the original novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Daisy and Billy, lead singers of the band The Six, are forced to face their love for one another in this drama that portrays the sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll of the 1970s.
In addition, in a blog post for Hello Sunshine, Reid disclosed that the real-life friendship between Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham served as inspiration for Daisy Jones & The Six.
