What is the Power About?
As stated in the official synopsis, “The Power is our world, but for one twist of nature. Teenage ladies suddenly and without warning acquire the ability to electrocute whomever they choose.
As the Power grows from a tingle in teens’ collarbones to a full reversal of the power balance in the world, the series covers a cast of fascinating personalities from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe.

The novel on which the series is based was a smashing success upon its release, being likened to Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale and making Barack Obama’s list of favorite books of the year.
Since Atwood chose Alderman as one of her protégés in 2012, we can only hope that the TV drama based on The Power is as influential and moving as the one based on The Handmaid’s Tale.
