A Brief Recap of the Previous Episode

Tomo questioned Misuzu, but she didn’t know the truth about when she and Jun started dating in middle school. Misuzu was upset that Jun had let it go, so she told Tomo they had only been dating for three days. When Jun asked Misuzu out on a date, she informed Tomo she struck rock bottom when he suggested they go on a 40-kilometer bike ride. Jun had to almost carry a recalcitrant Misuzu back to his apartment.

Misuzu decided to end things, but Jun ditched her first. Later that day, Jun met Tomo’s senpai, Kousuke, for the first time in an unusual setting.

Jun was disappointed to learn that Tomo had joined the school’s Boys Karate Club because he had committed to learning from Tomo’s father, Gorou. On his way back to his apartment, Jun ran into Kousuke and had a conversation with Tomo about their respective worldviews.

Creator Comments on Anime Adaptation

Tomo-chan Is A Girl manga author Shinta Yanagida recently shared his thoughts on the hit anime adaptation.

Seven years have passed since I first published Tomo-chan in serial form. It’s true that I came up with the idea for Tomo and his pals in the first place, but as the series progressed I got the sense that a consensus was forming about who Tomo was among the writers, the editors, and the viewers; Tomo and his pals were no longer the result of my early vision. A quote by Shinta Yanagida from his official website.

Shinta continued, “When it came to the anime adaptation, the interpretations of the various persons engaged in the production, including the director, producer, scriptwriter, and voice actors, made the characters feel even more “alive” to me.”

Now that some time has passed since its completion, I no longer feel like the creator of the original work but rather a watcher anticipating the anime broadcast of “Tomo is a Girl! I hope that “Tomo is a Girl!” is an anime that I will truly like. A quote by Shinta Yanagida from his official website.
