Netflix has announced a second season of the sitcom That ’90s Show.
A total of 16 new episodes of That ’90s Show have been ordered for Season 2, up from 10 in Season 1. They’ll all be back for season two, which will feature even more guest appearances from the cast of That ’70s Show. This also means that the show’s timeline will advance to 1996.
Everyone here at That ’90s Show was ecstatic to see the positive, enthusiastic reaction to our first season. We’re looking forward to another summer of fun and surprises at Point Place. “It’s 1996 again!” exclaimed Gregg Mettler, co-creator and showrunner.
Bonnie and Terry Turner, the show’s co-creators, shared the enthusiasm. Here at Point Place, we’re honored that you choose us out of all the exciting things you could be doing right now. We hope to continue to amuse you for a long time. They said “Goodbye!” in a joint statement.
Is There Going to Be a Season 2 of That ’90s Show?
Netflix has not yet announced whether or not the show will return for a second season.
We shouldn’t lose faith just yet, either, because Netflix frequently gauges viewer interest in a show before making a renewal announcement.

Reyn Doi, who plays Ozzie, hinted in an interview with Collider that the show would be renewed for a second season.

In response to a question on the potential plot points of a third season, Reyn said, “I guess they planned to do it every season in the summer.”

Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who played Red Forman and Kitty Forman, respectively, in the original run of episodes, are back for the 10-episode revival of That ’90s Show. And they’re joined by the likes of Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide (Emergence), Mace Coronel (Colin in Black & White), Maxwell Acee Donovan (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables), and Reyn Doi (Side Hustle)

What Have the Cast Said About Season 2?
Netflix hasn’t yet announced a second season, but the actors have expressed strong interest.
Actress Ashley Aufderheide, who plays Leia’s friend Gwen, expressed her desire for a second season of J-14. If it meant saving the world, I’d do it.

Ashley has mentioned that she would want to see Gwen join a band and see more of her many interests explored in a second season.
There are several facets to Gwen, I think. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, that’s for sure. There’s no denying that she’s a rebellious riot girl. On the other hand, I believe that has a source. Undeniably, it does. And by the season’s end, she reveals her soft underbelly. Season 2 is where I hope to dig deeper into that, to reveal more of Gwen’s backstory.
The show’s star, Callie Haverda, has been relatively tight-lipped about the show’s future beyond noting that she hopes there will be a second season.
