Where is One Piece in Production?
Inordinate time was needed to begin filming.
and production would have started in the summer of 2020 if not for the worldwide epidemic. There have been numerous postponements and bogus reports of when filming will begin since then.
It has been reported that three pirate ships have been constructed for the program and that most of the filming is taking place at Cape Town Film Studios, which has plenty of room for the pirate ships.

Initially, production was scheduled to begin in 2021, as stated by Steven Maeda.
All eleven scripts are complete. Once we return, we’ll begin casting. My guess is that we’ll begin casting on June 1st. Numerous concepts have been discussed, and by September [2021], we hope to be ready to begin manufacturing. Together, with Sensei Oda’s guidance, we’ve been making great progress. Since this is such a massive undertaking, we will now proceed. Snowpiercer was a tremendous production, but this one tops it.
Fans have reported witnessing filming take place as recently as March 2021, suggesting that the original intentions have been delayed.
In September of 2021, rumors spread that the cast and crew were getting ready to start shooting.
Early in October 2021, Steven Maeda announced on his website that he had arrived in Cape Town (where the series is set to film).

More than fifty South African actors will appear in One Piece, and more than a thousand crew members will be hired (67% previously disadvantaged individuals and 46% youth employees). Additionally, the SA Film Academy and the Academy of Creative Excellence (ACE) will collaborate to provide a mentorship program for more than thirty young creatives and technicians in 2022.

On to the next phase…the cut!
An interview with KFTV revealed that the Netflix original series One Piece will have several episodes set underwater.
We have been filming in the deep-water tank at Cape Town Film Studios for Netflix’s upcoming pirate adventure series One Piece. There are a number of moments that need for special effects, including those that take place underwater with significant characters.
In these instances, the Frog Squad serves as a one-stop shop, coordinating with the stunt crew and the creatives to provide the best possible results. The divemaster, industrial divers, lifeguards, and videographers are all provided by us. In addition to the underwater platforms, Frog Squad offers underwater cameras, underwater communications, and diving equipment.
The various cast members had SCUBA training for weeks in preparation for their scenes. The entire cast, including younger actors and their doubles, participated in the training.

On Instagram, Taz Skylar wrote:
And that was that… End of me
Thank you, @onepiecenetflix, for pushing me to the limits of my abilities.
When I first began this enormous new chapter, my mental health was in terrible shape. In the midst of it, I had no idea which way was up or where I belonged. However, I’ve made it to the other side. I feel like a new person, an adult. As someone confident in his own identity, abilities, and goals.
