Bloodlands Season 2 Release Date: What Will Happen in This Season?

Fans of James Nesbitt’s Tom Brannick have been wondering what the future holds for him ever since the first season of Bloodlands premiered on BBC One.

The second season of Bloodlands was ordered back in March 2021, not long after the shocking conclusion of the first. It will soon begin airing. Nesbitt is among the series regulars who will be back for season four. Others include Lorcan Cranitch (DCS Jackie Twomey) and Charlene McKenna (DS Niamh McGovern).

Victoria Smurfit will also be making a significant return to the show, this time as the title character Olivia Foyle. Before this statement, Nesbitt “Smurfit herself stated that she was “beyond happy to be joining the cast of Bloodlands and working with Jimmy again,” and the cast “couldn’t be happier to be welcoming” Smurfit. The first series was fantastic, and I highly recommend it “.

Keep reading to find out who will return for season two of Bloodlands and what the plot will probably entail.

What Will Happen in Bloodlands Season 2?

According to the official synopsis for Season 2 of Bloodlands, “When the murder of a crooked accountant unravels a trail of greed that threatens to expose his identity as the legendary assassin, Goliath, DCI Tom Brannick, and the accountant’s widow, Olivia Foyle, must keep each other perilously near.

“Tom and Olivia draw in Tom’s fellow officers DS Niamh McGovern, DCS Jackie Twomey, and DC ‘Birdy’ Bird, as well as Tom’s daughter, Izzy, as they try to solve the riddle her husband left behind, and as they become more and more immersed in the puzzle of each other until deceit and betrayal force Tom to question just what lengths he will go to keep his legacy intact.”

We may expect season 2 of Bloodlands to delve into the fallout from Tom’s murders of Pat Keenan and Tori Matthews.

We understand that Tom gave Pat Tori’s authenticity because she knew he was the person behind the Goliath killings and he knew that Pat would kill Tori, whereas the police believe that Pat Keenan was Goliath the whole time and that he killed Tori because he somehow found out that she was the one who kidnapped him.

After realizing he had murdered Tori, Tom killed Pat to eliminate any remaining questions from the investigation. If we accept Tom’s story that he released Emma Brannick after he murdered her lover David Cory in secret, she may also make her first TV appearance.

Is it possible that she could go back to Belfast and expose Tom as the murderer that everyone has suspected all along? As for now, all we can do is wait and see.

Conclusion

One of the most unexpected (and popular) additions to Acorn TV in recent years was the twisting Irish drama Bloodlands, whose protagonist, the seemingly good guy DCI Tom Brannick (James Nesbitt), was the notorious assassin known as Goliath. (Yes, the guy he’d been looking for all season.)

Despite the turn of events, Tom can keep his work, cover up his crimes by plotting a few more murders, and reveal (to the audience) that his presumed-dead wife Emma is alive and presumably living elsewhere under an assumed name. For more details please visit our website Jerseyshorevibe.com
