Everyone is in a hurry to get on the royal ship because war is coming soon. Leon got out of jail and is now back in the story. He tells everyone that the “cat-eared” friend of his older sister is to blame and shouldn’t be allowed on the ship.
Balcus is helping everyone on the ship, but when he sees his son Leon, he stops what he’s doing. He cares about him and wants to know why he was sent to jail. Leon tells him about everything. Balcus calls him a stupid son because he didn’t run away when things got bad.
Nick grabs Miauler, his friend with the pointy ears, and gives him to Balcus. Jenna tells them to stop, but Balcus tells her to be quiet. Miauler betrayed his son, so he throws him in the middle of the crowd and cuts off his head there. He then declares war and asks Zora to give him Rutart, which she refuses to do.
Balcus leaves and tells Zora to find another way to get there. Zora begs him to let her on board, but he doesn’t pay any attention. Leon is very proud of what his father did.
Back at the palace, everyone is making plans for how to win the war. They find Marie crying in a corner, and when they look into it, they find out that she lied about being a saint and is now on the church’s hit list. Everyone tries to help her feel better, but she hurts and pushes them away while crying more.
