Kick Ass 3 Release Date: What You Know About Vaughn Hints at Hit Girl Prequel?

Kick-Ass is a film adaptation of the graphic novel Kick-Ass: The Dave Lizewski Years, which chronicles the misadventures of the title character. David decided four years after Damon Macready’s death to train with Hit-Girl and become a true hero (Mindy Macready). Katie Deauxma, however, ended their relationship because she suspected he was cheating on her with Mindy.

During the same time, Chris D’Amico turned into a supervillain at the passing of his father. He formed a supervillain group, dubbed themselves the Toxic Mega Cunts, and vowed retribution on Kick-Ass.

Unfortunately, he has not provided a release date for the third movie. If the film’s production began in 2019, we can anticipate a release sometime this year.

Kick-Ass 3: Is It Happening?

Mark Miller stated in an interview back in 2013 that the second film will be the basis for the third part. The indications were that they were psyched to get started on the next task. Unfortunately, critics were divided on the sequel and generally agreed that it wasn’t as good as the original.

Despite his claim that the third picture will be the last made the same year, nearly 11 years have passed and the producers still haven’t discussed Kick-Ass 3. Mark told ScreenRant that production on the third feature was on hold at the moment. He claimed it would surface every so often after the third Kick-Ass movie. Although the director hasn’t talked to Mark about the film as of yet.

He also claimed that the show’s creator, Matthew Vaughn, is a close buddy with whom he keeps in triweekly contact. Kingsman: The Secret Service was the name of a movie they made together. Nevertheless, a Kick-Ass 3 is not in the works at this time.

Mark has dealt with Netflix, and he has stated that Vaughn has a deal with Apple. It takes a lot of work and dedication to get into the Kick-Ass realm. No plans exist at this time to go back. But, Mark did say that the prospective story could make a comeback at some point in the future and that it will be the major concluding plotline. At this time, it’s not clear if production on Kick-Ass 3 will even begin.

Vaughn Hints At Hit Girl Prequel

Vaughn seemed enthusiastic about the Hit-Girl prequel, while Mark indicated that Kick-Ass 3 has not been discussed at this time. He said it would be great if they came back with a prequel to Hit-Girl. Vaughn thought it would be amazing if they came back with the prequel after the disaster of the second Kick-Ass picture, which may pave the way for Kick-Ass 3.

Hence, if this occurs, he will be able to convince Chloe and Aaron to come back and wrap up the Kick-Ass plot. Vaughn announced in 2015 that he was writing a prequel to explain how Big Daddy and Hit-Girl got their superhuman powers. Once that’s done, he’ll start working on Kick-Ass 3.

Kick-Ass 3 Cast Members: Who Are in It?

In an interview, it was revealed that Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Aaron Taylor Johnson will be returning to their respective roles. Lyndsy as Katie Deauxma, Mintz-Plasse as Chris D’Amico, and Aaron as Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass are all set to make a comeback.

Chloe Grace Moretz, on the other hand, hasn’t decided if she’ll reprise her role as Mindy Macready/Hit Girl. She voiced her uncertainty about coming back in an interview. Still, she plans on coming back when Hit-Girl is more mature to see what opportunities present themselves.

What Can We Expect From Kick-Ass 3?

Mark has already said that the third film will be the last, which raises the likelihood that a character may be killed off. According to him, the chances of survival are quite low if they don’t wear bulletproof vests because the plot is a realistic take on the superhero genre.

Further, he predicted that a major event would occur at the story’s conclusion. But the third film will delve deeper into Hit-shadowy Girl’s underbelly. Mindy is well-known, yet few can explain her meteoric rise to “Hit Girl” status. That’s why the third film will go into her darker side, including the tragedy of her father’s death and the path that lead her to lose her mind.
