Austin Butler, who played Elvis Presley in the acclaimed 2022 film directed by Baz Lurhmann, will star in the next Apple TV+ original series Lords Of The Air, the fourth installment in the war drama series Band Of Brothers. Callum Turner, Raff Law, Josh Bolt, and Anthony Boyle are just a few examples of the plethora of up-and-coming British talents.

Some notable Americans in the industry include Nate Mann and Freddy Carter. Cary Fukunaga, fresh off directing the smash Bond film No Time to Die, is at the helm of this ten-part series chronicling the final year of World War II.

This war epic is based on Donald L. Miller’s book Masters Of The Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany (opens in new tab), which recounts the exploits of the elite Eighth Air Force of the United States Army as they bombed Berlin, Hanover, Leipzig, and Dresden, destroying rail facilities and oil refineries while also being expected to engage in air-to-air fighter combat. What Can We Expect From Masters of the Air?

Band of Brothers, released in 2001, was a combat film that dramatized the life of the “Easy” Company of the United States Army (part of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment). It chronicled their experiences from jump training through the Normandy invasion and the end of World War II throughout ten episodes.

It was the most costly television series ever produced when it premiered, and it went on to win both an Emmy and two Golden Globes for best television series.

The show, which Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg co-created, first broadcast on BBC2 in the UK and are now available on BBCIPlayer and Sky Box sets. Major Dick Winters, played by Damian Lewis, Captain Herbert Sobel, played by David Schwimmer, and Captain Lewis Nixon, played by Ron Livingston, were just a few of the stellar supporting cast members. In a video interview, Kirk Saduski, executive producer of Playtone, announced that the World War II miniseries Lords of the Air will be available to stream starting in the “mid-Spring of 2023.”

The nine-episode project follows the exploits of the Eighth Air Force of the United States Army Air Forces and stars Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, and Callum Turner.

This is the third Playtone World War II miniseries after HBO’s “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific,” and it has a budget of between $200 million and $250 million.
