Mission: Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning has a new promotional initiative, and Tom Cruise lovers, it’s time to get together.
Top Gun: Maverick actor Cruise will return as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the seventh installment of the critically acclaimed blockbuster trilogy.
The daredevil promotion, which premiered at CinemaCon 2022 before a screening of Top Gun: Maverick, features Cruise perched on top of a biplane in mid-flight.
As Cruise bids, every one a great summer and says “See you at the movies,” another biplane pulls up to tell him to get back to work, and the two planes swerve off to the left.
Mission Impossible 7 Release Date
According to Radiotimes, On Friday, July 14, 2023, the first part of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning will be shown in theatres. Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 were scheduled to film simultaneously and debut in the summers of 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Star Tom Cruise reportedly went to great lengths to keep production on track, even going so far as to create a “coronavirus-free village” for the cast and crew at a decommissioned RAF site in Oxford in June 2020.
His bold response to the extraordinary scenario meant that Mission: Impossible 7 was one of the first Hollywood projects to get back to work after the COVID suspension.
Shea Whigham, one of the actors, recently told RadioTimes.com: “Tom can sort these things out when you have him on the team. As there is no manual for making a movie during a pandemic, that was exactly what we needed at the moment. Indeed, he is a remarkable head of state.”
A source close to the production told The Hollywood Reporter that Cruise’s involvement with the franchise has been a source of tension between the actor and Paramount’s upper management in recent months.

According to reports, Tom Cruise doesn’t approve of Paramount’s decision to only show Mission: Impossible 7 in theatres for 45 days before making it available for free on the studio’s new streaming service, Paramount+.
As of this writing, the disagreement has not been resolved, therefore it is unknown if the film will have a standard three-month theatrical run or if it will be released early to home video services like HBO Max did with Batman (in the United States).
Whigham continued, “I agree with Tom and [the film’s director], McQuarrie. For me, the ideal length of a run is three months. McQuarrie showed me a few scenes from Seven, and I have to say, it’s great. These guys are true cinephiles who understand and love the art of film.

In both films, Tom Cruise reprises his role as the heroic IMF agent Ethan Hunt, and Rebecca Ferguson will reprise her role as Ethan Hunt’s ally at MI6 in at least Mission: Impossible 7.
Hayley Atwell, who is best known as Peggy Carter in the MCU, has been cast as the female lead and mystery character Grace in both of the upcoming films.
McQuarrie has also announced that Pom Klementieff, who starred in Guardians of the Galaxy, will be joining the franchise as a new femme fatale, and that Ozark’s Esai Morales will be playing a villainous role.

Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, two series mainstays, will return, but Jeremy Renner’s William Brandt, who hasn’t appeared in a film in the series since 2015’s Rogue Nation, hasn’t been confirmed to return.
Angela Bassett, star of American Horror Story, has also said that she will not be reprising her role as CIA director Erika Sloane because of the global pandemic.

What Will Happen in Mission Impossible 7?

Since both Missions: Impossible 7 and 8 are now in production simultaneously, the latter will probably feature a cliffhanger conclusion like that of Avengers: Infinity War (which led into 2019’s Endgame).
Shea Whigham, who stars alongside Cruise in both movies, hinted that his character, Jasper Briggs, will have an interesting narrative over both installments.
The reason I’m attempting to find Ethan Hunt will become clear in episodes seven and eight, he told RadioTimes.com. That’s one of the most exciting opportunities I’ve ever had.
After making it through the last film, recurring villain Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) may return as an adversary, adding even more jaw-dropping acrobatics to the mix.
