The Covenant Plotline: What Can We Expect From It?

It turns out that Ahmed is in dire need of the work that Kinley offers him—interpreting for the locals and leading the group through the various terrains of Afghanistan. The Taliban ambush the troops’ platoon in the desert, knocking Kinley to the ground in an attempt to kidnap him.

But Ahmed intervenes, killing the last Taliban so that he may bring Kinley to safety through the desert highlands. Ahmed, it turns out, didn’t join the team for the money, but rather to avenge the death of his son at the hands of the Taliban. Now that he has been given a second opportunity, John Kinley has moved back to his native country.

Eventually, he finds out that Ahmed is hiding out in Afghanistan after evading the Taliban. As the authorities ignore his desperate pleas, he travels to Afghanistan to save his friend, who had risked his life to save a stranger.
