A contract was signed in May of 2022, and production on Season 6 began shortly after. When filming finally began in Southern Spain, on the Costa del Sol, in late June 2022, news of it appeared in the Olive Press.

In an interview with the Radio Times, creator and main writer Charlie Brooker appeared to admit that additional episodes could be the last thing anyone needed in light of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.
When asked why he wasn’t working on a story about society collapsing, he answered, “Right now, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies collapsing.”

Leaving Black Mirror’s production firm, House of Tomorrow, which is a division of Endemol Shine, was a big problem, on par with the threat of a worldwide pandemic.
They created a production business called “Brokes and Bones” that has a sole partnership with Netflix. Death To 2020 was their first attempt at creating a series for Netflix.

Black Mirror Season 6 Plot: What is It About?
Not much is known about the plot of Black Mirror Season 6, but there will be more than three episodes this time around, and “the newest season is even more theatrical in scope, with each segment being handled as a separate film,” as reported by Variety.
