Chainsaw Man Season 2 Release Date: Who Are in It?

2022 has been a wonderful year for anime. Fans of anime continue to win, with recent successes including Spy X Family and Ranking of Kings, as well as the return of fan favorites like Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia. One book, however, cut deeper and more gruesomely than the rest of the pack.

We’re talking about Chainsaw Man here, the breakout hit from Studio MAPPA that shocked the world with its graphic violence and addictive gameplay. Chainsaw Man, based on the popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, has become one of the year’s most critically acclaimed shows after its first season concluded.

Chainsaw Man hasn’t been formally renewed just yet, but there’s plenty of source material to cover still and it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Studio MAPPA wouldn’t capitalize on all this success.

Chainsaw Man Season 2 Release Date

According to Digitalspy, Chainsaw Man began on October 12, 2022, which has led fans to anticipate that fresh episodes could arrive in the fall 2023 season. Studio MAPPA, however, does not typically adhere to such a yearly cycle, and rumors claimed by AnimeGeek.com imply that a comeback in 2024 is more possible.

With the addition of new characters in season two comes the natural addition of additional cast members.

There will be no further appearances by Y Taichi (in Japanese) or Emi Lo (in English) in the part of Akane. As the season drew to a close, the Snake Devil naturally took the life of the devil hunter.

Chainsaw Man Season 2 Plotline: What Can We Expect From It?

Season 2 will be a continuation of both Season 1 and Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name, and will most likely consist of 12 episodes. Our heroes have yet to catch the Gun Devil, and Special Division 4 is just getting started, so there are likely many more demonic foes still to come.

Season 2 is planned to adapt the remaining 97 chapters of Part 1 of the manga. Season 1 of the anime has covered around 40 chapters of the manga, implying that Season 2 might cover the remaining 57-ish.

In what will presumably be the first episode of season 2 of the anime, Denji will meet Lady Reze, a girl he happens to meet while taking cover from the rain in a phone booth, and so begin the Bomb Girl Arc.

Like Denji, Reze, aka the Bomb Girl, is a Bomb Devil Hybrid when she removes the pin from her choker and becomes the Bomb Girl. She is on a mission from the Soviet Union to steal the heart of the Chainsaw devil from Denji. So she’ll do whatever she can to sway his affections.

When Aki and the other Devil Hunters, including Angel Devil and Shark Fiend, try to aid Denji in his battle against Reze, a major confrontation between the Bomb Girl and the Public Safety Devil Hunters is inevitable. However, the true mystery has yet to be solved, as followers have no idea what makes people want to win Denji’s heart.
