Death Note Season 2 Release Date: What Can We Expect From It?

While there is plenty of intriguing anime, none have come close to matching Death Note’s bar-setting quality. Seeing anime presented in such a somber light was unexpected and unprecedented. The tragic deaths of innocents contaminate the mysterious tale of Light Yagami’s attempt to create a society free of criminals. What are the odds of a Death Note sequel, given that the anime hasn’t had one since 2007?

Unfortunately, there has been no confirmation of a second season of Death Note from either Studio Madhouse or Ohba. The manga’s twelve volumes served as the basis for the anime’s thirty-seven episodes, which brought Light’s story to a satisfying conclusion.

What do You know About Death Note Season 2 Announcement?

We’ve been waiting a long time for the next installment. Many fans assume that a Death Note sequel is already in the works. Unfortunately, the existence of a follow-up anime has not been officially confirmed as of yet.

The standalone “Death Note: Special One Shot,” written by Ohba and illustrated by Obata, came out in February 2020. The novella provided an all-new storyline for the franchise, taking place ten years after Kira’s adventures. It could be a great launching point for a prequel anime.

Death Note Season 2 Release Date

According to Indianshorts, There is no confirmed premiere date for Season 2 of Death Note, and very little is known about the show’s production. Death Note: The a-Kira Tale, a one-shot coming out in 2020, could also be adapted into a film or anime.

Although it’s hard to say whether or not the Death Note universe will ever be brought back, there is still hope because Ohba did publish a post-anime tale in 2020.

Death Note Season 2 Cast Members: Who Are in It?

As Light (Mamoru Miyano/Brad Swaile) and L (Kappei Yamaguchi/Alessandro Juliani) would need to carry the series without them, only a select few characters and their original voice actors would likely be requested back for any future “Death Note” prequel or sequel (see below).

Most likely to make a comeback is Ryuk, the immortal hero voiced by Shidô Nakamura in the Japanese animation and Brian Drummond in the English dub (per IMDb). Noriko Hidaka, who originally voiced Near, and Nozomu Sasaki, who originally voiced Mello in the Japanese original and the English dub, respectively, have both kept their roles.

A second season of an anime could feature an entirely new group of characters or a focus on one of the surviving actors or actresses from the original series. At least two manga have used this technique before Death Note: The a-Kira Story, which prominently features Ryuk and Near, and Death Note: Another Note – The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases, both told by Mello.

Death Note Season 2 Plotline: What Can We Expect From It?

The anime’s original protagonist, Light Yagami, has unfortunately died. The new one-potential shot adaptation would introduce Minoru Tanaka as the next Death Note owner.

To make him as compelling as Light, Ryuk will be depicted giving Minoru the Death Note. Nevertheless, rather than carry on Light’s work, he decides to sell the artifact.

Where to Watch Death Note Season 2?

Following its initial broadcast in 2007, the anime has been made available on major streaming services like Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix. The enormous level of public demand makes it quite likely that Death Note: Season 2 will be made available on all of the aforementioned platforms. As a result, you can count on seeing it pretty much everywhere.

Even though the original Death Note anime debuted over a decade ago, the second season has not yet been released. The 2020 one-off does look promising for a sequel, so we expect to see the franchise back in action shortly.

There are also other shows in a similar genre that can keep you occupied till the debut of the death note series. Such Shows Include Kengan Ashura Season 2, Jujutsu Kaisen, and more.
